25. Ras Laffan Olefins Project - SP3 Package

  • Client:Technip France
  • Location:Ras Laffan Industrial City (north of Doha), Qatar
  • Description
  • The Ras Laffan Ethylene cracker to be built in the Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLC), when completed, will be one of the largest ethylene crackers in the world.The Ras Laffan Olefins Company Limited (RLOC) is a joint venture between Qatar Chemical Company II Ltd. (Q-Chem II) (53.31%), Qatofin (45.69%), and Qatar Petroleum (1%).
  • The project comes within an ambitious programs to utilize and develop hydrocarbon resources to ensure optimization and utilization of the countrys resources by setting up oil and gas related projects and, eventually, diversifying sources of income and creating development opportunities.

DHL Scope : Handling end to end freight forwarding solutions for Technip France Qatar the Main contractor of the Ras Laffan Olefin Project. This includes duty exemption procedures , import customs clearance and delivery for Air , Ocean and Land Freight shipments 26. Customer Recommendation - Technip 27. QAFCO-5 Project

  • The QAFCO-5 expansion project, which will be completed in early 2011, will raise QAFCOs annual production capacity to 3.8 million MT of ammonia and 4.3 million MT of urea making QAFCO the worlds largest single-site producer of both ammonia and urea -Thus far, QAFCO has become the worlds largest single site urea producer after the inauguration of its 4th expansion (QAFCO-4) in April 2004.
  • While the QAFCO-6 project will increase the companys annual production capacity of urea to 5.6 million MT. consequently the project will strengthen the companys position as a key player in the global fertilizer market.
  • High quality products, a strategic geographical location, efficient logistic facilities and reliability in supply are among the factors that propelled the growth of QAFCO into a main producer and exporter of ammonia and urea in the world.

  • Client: Thiess DegrmontJoint Venture
  • Location: Wonthaggi , Australia
  • Description : The Thiess DegrmontJoint Venture has been contracted by AquaSure to design and construct the $3.5 billion Victorian Desalination Project, one of the biggest infrastructure projects in the state's history.
  • Thiess Degrmont will design and construct Australia's largest desalination plant, associated marine tunnels and structures, an 84km water transfer pipeline and a co-locatedunderground powerline to supply power to the plant.
  • When complete, the plant will be capable of supplying up to 150 billion litres of drinking water each year -about than a third of Melbourne's annual water needs - with the capability of future expansion to 200 billion litres.
  • Following construction and commissioning of the plant, the Degrmont-Thiess Services Joint Venture will operate and maintain the plant for the remainder of the 30-year project term.
  • Desalinated water will be delivered by the end of December 2011.
