The Idea For my project I am going to design a series of posters that would be seen in doctors surgeries, school notice boards and organizations such as Connexions and youth clubs. The posters will feature a 2 individuals reflecting on their personal encounters with SASH and a small section of information on how to get involved. There will be an equal ratio of image and text, plus the SASH logo in the bottom corner to signify it’s relevance to the marketing.

The Idea• For my project I am going to design

a series of posters that would be seen in doctors surgeries, school notice boards and organizations such as Connexions and youth

clubs.

• The posters will feature a 2 individuals reflecting on their

personal encounters with SASH and a small section of information on how to get involved. There will

be an equal ratio of image and text, plus the SASH logo in the

bottom corner to signify it’s relevance to the marketing.

Fonts & Colour Scheme• I’m going to stick to a green

colour scheme to fit in with the colour of the SASH logo. Green is

representative of calm, health and wellbeing. Using only one block

colour but in a variety of tones will allow the reader to view the

poster without getting confused by a heavily jumbled colour

palette.

• I’m also going to use a font that works well with my target

demographic of 16-24 year olds, examples include school-themed

and graffiti inspired fonts.

Images• SASH’s overall approach in it’s

marketing is to remain positive and show the aspects of the

charity that help homelessness rather than visually display it as a form of “guilt” or persuasion.

However, I am opting to use minimal amounts of low key imagery of teenagers sat in

street locations posing upset or feeling alone – not necessarily

displaying stereotypical cardboard boxes and doorways that are associated with being

homeless.

I used two images taken from Google as an example of a host and young teenager that faced homelessness. I am considering taking my own photographs in my final poster to ensure the images work well with the rest of the idea, rather than taking them from the internet.

Here is an example of a draft poster I created…

My target demographic is people between the ages of 16 and 24, but also to anyone above the demographic that would be interested in becoming a host at SASH.

I’m going to require the use of Photoshop to put together my marketing sources and also the use of an SLR camera to take my images. I will also need to use a computer or laptop to develop my work.

Preview & Resources

I would need a graphic designer, 2 models and a photographer to

put together my marketing materials. I would also require a researcher into peoples previous experiences with homelessness and SASH to incorporate into my

poster.

I would use my previous research on past marketing campaigns and

information gathered from SurveyMonkey to piece together the foundations of my poster and how to make it appropriate and suitable for

my demographic.

My schedule for designing and creating my materials is across the week Monday-Friday using

Photoshop to piece together the layout, colour scheme and look

at potential fonts. Saturdays and Sundays will be used for taking photographs and doing research

on the charity and peoples previous experiences.
