OUT & ABOUT RAINBOW CLUBHOUSE’S SUMMER
TRIP TO KILKENNY
TRIP TO SANDYMOUNT
Everybody met at 7:00a.m. on Thursday
morning 27/07/2017.
Our train was for7:25. We all met on
time and boarded the train.
While on the train we got tea and
coffee.
The journey lasted 1h35m and we
arrived in Kilkenny at 9:00am.
When we got off the train, we could
see Kilkenny Castle in the distance
which was one of our destinations for
the day.
We had nice tea and scones in the
hotel in Kilkenny.
We also had a sumptuous 3 course
meal in the same hotel. The hotel has
beautiful décor and comfy sofas.
We left for the train station in Kilkenny at
3:30pm and we got to Heuston station
at 5:45pm.
It was a lovely trip.

We really Picked a perfect day to go
to as the weather was glorious.
First we got the 18 bus and made sure
that everyone had been prepared
and we had our packed lunches
made.
There was a buzz in the air. The
atmosphere was so good and as
soon as we arrived we made our way
to the strand. It felt so relaxed and the
views were fabulous with people
jogging and also walking their dogs.
I hope to go back again and
definitely recommend going to my
friends and family.
Thanks for a great day had by all.

HEALTH & WELLBEING CORNER
WAYS TO MANAGE YOUR HEALTH
by Lorna Sutton RAINBOW CLUBHOUSE’S GYM
PROGRAMME…...contd.
Personally, I find that through the years of
attending the mental health services,
Relaxation
Talking and
Learning how to cope with emotions &
feelings is brilliant and also helpful.
Getting exercise and being active and
not being afraid to seek the needed
help is important.
Life can be good and nobody should be
alone.
On Tuesday, 15th August, 2017, we left
to Keith’s Gym in the people carrier.
We did four rounds of workouts. It was
a “tough” gym session but we
managed to get through it.
The next day, everyone was sore and
our bodies were hurting.
We are now attending Keith’s Gym
every Tuesday where we do a
workout and then have a shower
when we get back to the clubhouse.
I will keep you updated about this
programme on a monthly basis.
So, till next month……...keep fit!!!

MY ACCOUNT OF THE FILM BABY DRIVER
BY
BERNADETTE NAESSENS.
On Friday 14th July, I was in town and I had some
time to spare so I decided to go to see a picture in
The Savoy Cinema on O’ Connell Street.
I went into cinema five to see a film called Baby
Driver starring Ansell Elgort .
The film is about a twenty year old lad who
becomes involved with crime in America and he
drives the car for a group of criminals. He does not
have a name so he is called Baby Driver.
He meets a lovely girl in a diner restaurant but he
does not tell her his job. His crime boss calls him
sweetheart. His crime boss depends on him to drive
the car all the time and there is plenty of car
chasing in the film.
He decides when he meets the girl that he would
give up crime but his crime boss who is very
dependent on him and says that he wants one
more job done. He fears his crime boss so he agrees
to do the job and he is driving the car when one of
the criminals is hungry and wants something to eat
at the diner in which the girl he met works and Baby
Driver does not like this. In the end, the girl goes with
them and there is a big car chase with another
crime gang involved and all of the gangsters get
killed and baby is left with his girlfriend. Baby Driver
had witnessed his mother and father being killed in
a car crash when he was eight so he turned to
crime to take his revenge out on the world.
This is an excellent picture and I would recommend
it to everybody who can to go to see it .

DUNKIRK
Three of us went to the cinema at Liffey
Valley on Tuesday 8th August to see
Dunkirk. Irish actor Cillian Murphy is in this
movie about the British and Germans at
war.
There were four young soldiers who tried to
avoid conflict so they snucked and got
away on a boat that they took over from a
fisherman who unfortunately died in the
process.
So many soldiers died when they jumped
out of a plane but landed in water that
was
polluted by diesel which then caught fire
I liked the fact that the four soldiers got
away to safety on a fishing boat.
We would recommend this movie and
give a rating of 7/10.

Looking forward to the forthcoming Tom
Cruise movie: American Made
