Location: Premier Inn Extension Cressing Road Braintree CM77 8GG Project Description: Premier Inn, Braintree needed a Rockbox Gabion wall for the creation of a new car park. The Gabion wall would not only produce a stable slope but also leave the site with an aesthetic finish. Technical Requirements: Designed to facilitate a new car park, over existing slope. In Figure 1 you will see the drawing of the proposed gabion wall provided by our in house engineers. Geosynthetics produced the solution in a short space of time as requested because RG Carter, the contractor, were already on site. The full solution, complete with cross sections, were sent to Simpsons Associates so they could incorporate them into their project files. Prior to the start of construction Geosynthetics were able to liaise directly with the contractor. Geosynthetics visited site to personally show the installation team how to assemble the gabion units using the helical fastenings in order to speed up the entire installation process. Geosynthetics also addressed their concerns about the finish between the gabions and the tarmac road surface.
