General Assemblygeneral Assembly

The general Assembly (GA) is primary decision making body of IPSFand consists of meeting of IPSF

members with the IPSF Executive. The GA meets annually to discuss all ongoing matters and plans of the

Federation, to accept reports and to elect new Executive Committee. GA is chaired by IPSFPresident.

Motion Committee

During the GA the Motions Committee (MC) will be appointed, consisting of a Parliamentarian and

two delegates. The task of MC is to receive and oversee all motions, handed by IPSF Executive and IPSF

members, and submit it to the GA

Auditing Committee

During the GA also the Auditing Committee (AC) will be appointed, consisting of 2 members. The task

of Ac is to oversee the annual budget of IPSFwith IPSFTreasurer before submitting it to the GA.

Voting rights

Only Countries which maintain the Full Membership are allowed to vote during the GA.The official

Delegates must present the Credential Form to the IPSFSecretary. General prior the beginning of the first

GA. Members in Association and individual Members do not have a voting right in the GA, but are strongly

welcomed to participate in discussions. Each congress attendant has the right to speak at the GA, after beingacknowledged to do so by the Chair of GA (lPSFPresident).

Motions

If you have an idea or proposal that you think IPSFshould support, then you should submit it formally

as a motion. You propose then to the GA discuss it. If the motion is approved, it must be accomplished in

the following year.

• Ordinary motions :presented mostly by the executive members, and used to rule the GA.

• Procedural motions: presented mostly by the executive members, and used to rule the GA.

IPSFConstitution

Constitution is the official document of IPSF,and its content is obligatory for the Executive and all

members of the federation. Every member should be familiar with this document.

Recommended preparations for (P's, SEO'sand Official DelegatesYou might take into consideration some preparation for specific parts of the congress programme. If

you are a Contact Person, a Student Exchange Officer, or an Official Delegate, please read carefully the

information enclosed in the booklet:

- As a Contact Person, please read the CP handbook carefully and bring all the information you are

required to have at the congress. You should also be familiar with the congress Folder and any documents

relating to the Congress.

- As a Student Exchange Officer, please revise the SEP Official Documents. There will be two SEO

workshops where problems from this past year and their possible so will be discussed.

-As Official delegate please get familiar with any materials related to the congress will receive before

the congress.

- Voting rights can only be given to Full Members if the credential forms were ted before the deadline

and the original Signed hard copy of the form should be brought with you to Thailand and given to the

Secretary General!

A ll about Thailand; E xtra stuffs!

o Thailand has a tropical climate. On an average day, the temperature rises to 340C. During July until October, it's rainy

season. So it might not be a bad idea to bring an umbrella or a hat. The temperature can be varied from 20 to 340C.

o Hot weather is expected during the day with strong sunshine. You may need a sunscreen and sunglasses. Cool clothes

and flip-flops are highly recommended.

o Thai currency is in Baht. Note denominations are 20,50, 100,500 and 1,000 Baht. To get up to date currency rates see

www.xe.com You can change currency at the bank or at the International Airport.

o Your personal medications for throughout the Congress. In case of emergencies, please notify the RCs.There is somehospitals nearby as well as the pharmacies.

o Electric current is 220V, 50 cycles. Electrical wall outlets are usually oftwo pole typed; flat (two bladed terminals) and

either flat or round terminals. Please check if you need to bring an adapter.

o Tap water is not for drink. Drink bottled or boiled water.

o Take it easy when eating Thai food, ask for food to be only slightly spicy, otherwise you will be spending the next day or

two on the toilet.

o Local time is GMT + 7 hours. The international dialing code forThailand is 66.

o Keep your valuables safety all the travelling programmes such as credit cards, traveler's checks and passport.

o When you arrive Bangkok: Check out the ways of getting out of BKKa irport. This requires caution and common sense.

For transportation in BKK, take a tuk-tuk once for the experience then use meter taxis.

o

In Thailand, we do drive on the left - cars are Right-hand-drive.o Thais don't normally shake hands when greeting one another, but instead press the palms together in a prayer-like

gesture called a 'Wai'. Generally a younger person 'wais' an elder, who returns it.

o Thais regard the head as the highest part of the body, literally and figuratively. Therefore, avoid touching people on the

head and try not to point your feet at people or an object. It is considered very rude. Shoes should be removed when

entering a private Thai home.

o Thailand is more than beaches - there are beautiful cities, national parks, forests and lakes - explore them as many as

you can.
