Adults of the parish are called to an evening of devo on and reflec on as the Advent season begins. Come to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel on Tuesday the 4th of December evening from 7:00 to 8:00pm. Hear the Word, learn the Catholic Tradi ons and prepare the way for Jesus’ birthday this year. This event will be for both English and Spanish speakers. The Knights of Columbus Food Drive December 1st and 2nd

The food collec on will be on December 1st /2nd. A Helping Hands truck will be in the church parking lot to collect your food dona ons. Please help us feed those in need. Thank you.

PARENTS NIGHT OUT - Saturday, December 8 from 6:00-9:00 pm

Who: Age 3 (and po y trained)- 6th grade welcome! *Youth grades 7-12 needed as volunteers! Cost: $15 for 1 child, $10 for each addi onal child, $40 max per family (price includes pizza and a drink)

Give the kids a night away from their parents to enjoy pizza, movies, cra s, games, story me, and more! This first- me event at Our Lady of the Lake is a fundraiser hosted by the Family Service Organiza on. Please consider suppor ng the Service Organiza on and bringing your children to the parish to spend me with their friends; and make new friends! Registra on required! All funds raised will go towards future service events.

Adult and youth volunteers needed to help make this event a success. The number of children that a end will depend on our volunteer numbers, so please consider serving for this event! Teach your child some Latin. In Latin "Advent" means something is coming. For Christians, it points us to the coming of Jesus at Christmas. It's not here yet. We have to wait for it. Talk about how you wait for relatives or friends to arrive. It's hard to wait, but you shouldn't hurry it by celebrating before the guest's arrival.

Usher Ambassadors Wanted

Looking for a more ac ve way to serve God and the parish, but worried about having the me to commit to a parish ministry . Joining our parish team of “Usher Ambassadors is a great way to serve during Mass that won’t put a strain on your busy schedule.

What is expected of ushers?

Ushers assist during the Mass, serve as ambassadors of the church, and ensure the parish community is able to worship in a safe, friendly and nurturing environment. Some specific tasks include gree ng parish members and guest, helping people find seats, collec ng the offering, coun ng a endance at Mass, ushering people to Communion, and handing out weekly bulle ns a er Mass. REFUGEE AIDE COLLECTION / January 6, 2019

The OLOL Refugee Aid Support Group will have a Catholic Charities truck at our parish to accept donations of household items on behalf of Catholic Charities Refugee Services. More info to come.
