Summer Camp Deadline Extended

Fifteen FCC youth and counselors have a few more weeks to gather funds together for summer camp. Centrifuge 2020 has

extended its deadline for final summer payments as the world continues to seek wisdom regarding COVID-19.

Final payments are now due on June 14. FCC is set to attend Centrifuge July 13-18 at Jenness Park.

Total cost of the camp is $340. Please pray for wisdom for the camp and for our parents.

The Children’s Ministry at Faith Community Church exists to bring glory to God by training up boys and girls in the

way they should go (Proverbs 22:6). We seek to help children come to a saving knowledge of Jesus,

and to grow in their faith and make it their own.

Men’s Ministry

The purpose of Men’s Ministry at Faith Community Church is to glorify God by raising up godly and faithful men through the

teaching of God’s Word and the fellowship of other Christian men.

In this passage, we see what happened to Paul and Silas

in the prison in Philippi… 4 events to note:

1. Paul and Silas were in prison

They prayed and sang hymns to God

An earthquake hit and loosed the prisoners

The guard was going to kill himself

2. Paul had a conversation with the guard

“Don’t harm yourself”

“What must I do to be saved?”

“Believe on Jesus”

3. The guard and his family were saved and were baptized 4. The guard rejoiced

THE COMPASSIONATE GOD

Exodus 34:6 (NKJV)

6 And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God,

merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth,

God’s mercy, by itself, is beyond measure more than His children could ever hope

for. Yet, He goes beyond that to show compassion also. This is a great thing to

meditate on when dealing with others. God sets the example so we will follow it.

Lord God, You have shown me the kind of mercy that could only come from El Racham. By Your grace, longsuffering, goodness, and truth, help me to show the same to others that will reflect Your glory. Amen

Compassion International Update From Rich Van Eaton, Sponsor and Donor Relations Director

In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, it feels like there is something new for us to adapt to every day. School at home. Carefully planned trips to the grocery store. Online worship services.

But the beautiful thing is, we are adapting. We are learning and providing and wor-shipping the best we can.

Compassion’s frontline church partners across the globe are adapting too. And while it’s been difficult, their passion for ministering to children, combined with their resourcefulness, is something we wanted to share with you. Because while nearly all Compassion centers are currently closed, the work has not stopped!

Children and families are being cared for and provided with necessities like food, clean water, shelter, clothing, household items, and even medical care and trauma counseling.

Compassion is empowering local churches to redeploy sponsorship funds that are ordinarily used for group activities at the center to meet urgent and critical needs of families with children and youth registered in the program. That means if your sponsored child has any urgent needs, they will be met!

Another way we are adapting to meet the urgent needs of children and families is by making a temporary change in how birthday gifts and family gifts are distributed. For now, these will be disbursed as monetary gifts to appropriate, verified caregiv-ers. Families may spend the money on whatever they consider most important to meet family needs, without conditions. The caregiver will decide the best use of the money, recognizing that sometimes purchasing food or paying rent is in the best interest of a child.

Children’s Ministry

Every Summer, since our establishment in 2002, Faith Community Church has held a week-long

Vacation Bible School program for our kids. This summer, we are scheduled to have VBS June 15-19.

At this time, because of the COVID-19 virus and our current socializing restrictions, we do not know if we will be

able to hold our regular program that week. We still want to provide a VBS program at some point

this summer, so we are working on several different options. We will give an update of our plans a little later in the month of

May. Please be in prayer for this ministry and the work of the Lord at FCC.
