Welcome Opening Prayer Hymn

HOW GREAT THOU ART

O Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder Consider all the works Thy hand hath made, I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder,

Thy power throughout the universe displayed,

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God toThee; How Great Thou art, how great Thou art!

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee; How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

When through the woods and forest glades I wander

And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees; When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur, And hear the brook, and feel the gentle breeze;

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!

Then I shall bow in humble adoration; And there proclaim, My God, how great Thou art!

THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name,

thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Hymn GUIDE ME, O THOU GREAT REDEEMER.

Guide me, O thou great Redeemer, Pilgrim through this barren land; I am weak, but Thou art mighty; Hold me with Thy powerful hand:

Bread of Heaven, Feed me now and evermore.

Open now the crystal fountain

Whence the healing stream doth flow; Let the fiery cloudy pillar

Lead me all my journey through: Strong deliverer,

Be Thou still my strength and shield.

When I tread the verge of Jordan, Bid my anxious fears subside;

Death of death, and hell's destruction, Land me safe on Canaan's side:

Songs and praises I will ever give to Thee.

Poem ‘Storm in the night’ – Read by Dorothy Commendation Hymn

MINE EYES HAVE SEEN. Mine eyes have seen the Glory of the coming of the Lord;

He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;

He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword; His truth is marching on.

Glory! Glory! hallelujah! Glory! Glory! hallelujah! Glory! Glory! hallelujah! Glory! Glory! hallelujah!

His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watchfires of a hundred circling camps; They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps; I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps;

His day is marching on.

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never sound retreat; He is sifting through the hearts of men before His judgement

seat; O be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet;

Our God is marching on.

In the beauty of the lillies Christ was born across the sea; With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me; As He died to make men Holy, let us die to make men free;

While God is marching on.

The pain of bereavement is the price we have to pay for loving;

so that though it is costly it is not too dear, since the experience of losing what you have loved

and grieving over it, is a challenge to learn more about yourself,

to become more mature, more healthy and truly human."
