INTRODUCTION

Sport includesall forms of competitive physical activity or games which, through

casual or organised participation, at least in part aim to use, maintain or improve

physical ability and skills while providing enjoyment to participants, and in some

cases, entertainment for spectators. Hundreds of sports exist, from those between

single contestants, through to those with hundreds of simultaneous participants, either in teams or competing as individuals.

Sport is generally recognised as system of activities which are based in

physical athleticism or physical dexterity.

Sport is usually governed by a set of rules or customs, which serve to ensure fair

competition and allow consistent adjudication of the winner. Winning can be

determined by physical events such as scoring goals or crossing a line first. It can

also be determined by judges who are scoring elements of the sporting

performance, including objective or subjective measures such as technical performance or artistic impression.Sport is also a major source of entertainment for

non-participants, with spectator sport drawing large crowds to sports venues, and

reaching wider audiences through broadcasting. Sports betting is in some cases

severely regulated, and in some cases is central to the sport.

Sports are an integral part of the total education system. It helps in the attainment

of the ultimate aim of education i.e. the achievement of holistic development.

Games and Sports play a vital role in a student’s life. A student should study hard

to be successful in competitive examinations. But he should also play games and sports to enjoy the health and vigor of life. Along with bookish learning, a student

should spend his time on games and sports also. Either study or work alone makes

us exhaust. We remain no longer efficient to do any work. Sports remove our

mental exhaustion. Education without sports is incomplete.

The Sports Club of IMS and Sports marks itself as one amongst the most

efficacious club of DAVV. It strives to excel at all levels and bring laurels to the

college. With the help of college faculty, we are continuously improving in the sports field. Considering the concept of “SPORTS FOR ALL” throughout the

entire session we organized some sports activities forstudents.

CRICKET

Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on

a field at the center of which is a 20-meter (22-yard) pitch with a wicket at each end,

each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by

striking the ball bowled at the wicket with the bat, while

the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this and dismiss each player When ten

players have been dismissed, the innings ends and the teams swap roles. The game is

adjudicated by two umpires, aided by a third umpire and match referee in

international matches. They communicate with two off-field scorers who record the

match's statistical information.

There are 16 teams participated in pratispardha 2020 with 15 members in each team.

TABLE-TENNIS

Table tennis, also known as ping-pong, is a sport in which two or four players

hit a lightweight ball back and forth across a table using small rackets. The

game takes place on a hard table divided by a net. Except for the initial serve,

the rules are generally as follows: players must allow a ball played toward them

to bounce one time on their side of the table, and must return it so that it

bounces on the opposite side at least once. A point is scored when a player fails

to return the ball within the rules. Play is fast and demands quick reactions.

Spinning the ball alters its trajectory and limits an opponent's options, giving

the hitter a great advantage.
