For 24 seasons, the Prairie Center

has hosted an incredible array of

music, theatre, dance and performing

arts, from national headliners (The

Smothers Brothers, Crystal Gayle, Gordon

Lightfoot) to local favorites (Koko Taylor, River

North Dance, Rachel Barton) and cult heroes (Kronos

Quartet, Pilobolus, Penn & Teller).

For our silver anniversary, we continue a rich and diverse tradition

with a season line-up that’s already got people buzzing. Annual

programs such as the Prairie Center’s lavish Nutcracker ballet

and the up-and-coming Screen Test Student Fest are joined by

crowd pleasers like Aimee Mann, The International Tenors,

and Colin Hay to bring you a world of first-rate entertainment.

The mission of the Prairie Center Arts Foundation is to vitalizeand enrich the cultural arts by providing financial support tothe Prairie Center for the Arts. The foundation supportsits mission by securing individual and corporatedonations and through special events. Thefoundation supports mainstage attractions atthe Prairie Center such as Liz Callaway &Ann Hampton Callaway in Baby Boom, LosLonely Boys, ‘SWonderful, AConversation with Thomas Jefferson, TheInternational Tenors, and An Evening ofChapin Music Featuring The Songs OfHarry Chapin and the Steve ChapinBand.

It also supports Prairie Center programsfor youth such as the Schaumburg YouthOrchestra, Schaumburg Dance Ensemble, and Screen Test Student Fest. Thefoundation supports the community at largethrough its Theatre Buddies program, whichprovides theatre tickets to people in the communitywho might otherwise never experience the excitement andenergy of a live performance, and Arts Partners, which works witharea schools to provide ongoing arts experiences to area ESLstudents. The sponsorships acknowledged here are underwritten

by individual and corporate donations, and fundraising eventsincluding Celebration 2010 and Mystery at the Theatre. The

Prairie Center Arts Foundation is an Illinois not-for-profit organization founded in 1990. Donations to

the foundation are tax deductible. We needyour help.

Your Gift Counts.... When you give to thefoundation, you ensure the growth andexcellence of the arts in Schaumburg. The arts impact every person in thecommunity. The arts entertain and helpdefine who we are in the world. The artsbuild a stronger community and create aplace where people want to work andlive. However, a culturally vibrant

community costs money. Ticket pricesalone only cover about 50% of the cost of

bringing these fine artists to Schaumburg. Alllevels of donation are appreciated and given

recognition. The names of donors at the $250level and above are placed on our Donor Recognition

Wall, located in the main lobby of the Prairie Center.

A principal is removed from a culturally di-verse school and creates racial tension and

resentments in an already divided town. These views come to the surface as each sideexpresses their cultural perspective. One side expectsto be respected for their resentments and not be called racist, the

other side attempts to describe racism without remaining a victim. A pow-erful production formulated from Barack Obama's May 18, 2008 speech on

race during the 2008 election. For tickets or more information, call 847-352-1801.
