Prague Castle (Prazsky hrad)

http://www.hrad.cz/en/prague-castle/prague-castle-tourist-information/visit-of-prague-castle.shtml

This fairy tale castle on a hill overlooking the Vltava River is the most popular sight in the city, reflecting the city's "Bohemian Baroque" architecture. The seat of Czech rulers for 1,000 years, today it houses the office of the Pesident. Contained within the castle walls are three courtyards, beautiful gardens, shops, and restaurants. St Vitus Cathedral, a Gothic landmark of the city started in 926 that has always been the center of Prague's religious and political life, is in this giant castle. The cathedral has 21 chapels as well as its most famous archway, the Golden Portal entrance , containing a mosaic of The last Judgement dating back to 1370.

Strahov Monastery

Republic (Praha 1)

Whilst the Strahov monastary is a marvellous place to visit, with its massive library  of ancient texts and volumes (used for filming scenes in film The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) , another excellent reason for visiting there is the excellent monastary brewery . They serve an excellent selection of delicious (and often strong!) beers brewed on the premises, with seasonal variations, along with a good selection of light meals and snacks.

Forget about the museum, go for the fountain of the pissing men, the cafe and the River Terrace Bar. The fountain was one of the most amusing moments in Prague. The Museum takes itself too seriously - easy given the subject matter, and is really one for the Kafka fans. The area around the Museum however is great for the cafes, bars and good craft shops

Torture MuseumMostecka 21, Mala Strana, Prague, Czech Republic (Praha 1)

“Some people may find this place a little disturbing but I found it to be very interesting and torture is obviously a big part of history that not many people appreciate to learn about. There are 3 floors full of artifacts/information ect, but can be done in around 1 hour.”

“Krizik fontain is a wonderful water show in Prague, perfect for romantic evening to visit with somebody special. The lights and water falling is binded to the notes of the melody, which is not in Barcelona. Also not so overcrowded as if it was for free. A small entrance fee allows you to come into the fontain area, pick a nice place to sit with the best view.It is truth that the whole performance doesn't last a whole hour but about 30 or 40 minutes.”

“It's fun! First off, if you're a student, mention that right away and they'll take off about 100 koruna (with student ID). It's an interesting way to spend a half hour or so. They have a private screening room in the back of the first floor showing the first 2 pornographic films ever made from 1925. The next couple floors above are the displays, info, diagrams, etc. I wouldn't take anyone too conservative but whatever, don't take it too seriously it's a fun break from sightseeing!”

“5 of us went on a Friday night. It was so much fun. They had belly dancing, sword fighting, and fire eaters. We were in the bottom level, and if claustrophobic, could be an issue. The walls were made of stone and no windows. The food was great and the prices were reasonable.”

“I was surprised to see you could get double cocktails which we served in large plastic dispensers and were decently priced for what you got. I was shocked when I asked could I dance and the bar and was told straight away yes, I did not know this was considered the norm here. I had alot of fun dancing on the bar and then I got to dance on a pole which was located on top of a table so this made the bar a more interesting place as it was different to others. The drinks were adequately price and the music was enjoyable. Open til late.”
