Toyota Land Cruiser has an enviable reputation for reliability

and off-road agility that stretches back over 50 years.

Land Cruiser Prado is part of the next evolutionary phase that

harmonises on-road excellence with sophisticated drive train

technologies to give drivers maximum control in any driving

situation, on or off-road.

Both Prado models have a state of the art turbo diesel engine.

With a drive-by-wire throttle, variable-vane turbocharger and

common-rail fuel injection system the sophisticated turbo

diesel engine offers signifi cantly improved performance and

driveability. The 3.0 litre twin cam engine

produces 127kW of power and 410Nm of

torque from just 1600rpm. The diesel

fuel system also includes a fuel cooler

to maintain fuel viscosity and enhance

performance and an oxidation catalytic

converter to reduce emissions and meet

Euro IV emission standards.

Prado VX is also available with a silky-smooth 4.0 litre petrol

V6 24 valve quad cam engine producing 179kW of power and

376Nm of torque. This engine has variable valve timing that

assists in the effi cient and economic delivery of power.

The generous dimensions of Prado make for a large interior

and the long wheelbase ensures on-road ride comfort.

At Toyota, our commitment to quality is a way of life.

We know that nothing is so good that it can’t

be improved. That’s why we strive for constant

improvement in everything we do. This commitment

to continuous improvement, called ‘kaizen’, is

the guiding force behind Toyota Moving Forward.

Design, quality, safety, technology, performance

and sustainability are at the forefront of our thinking

as we search for better ways to create ideas and

vehicles that can help people get more out of life.

So as Toyota heads towards the future, there is

only one way we’re moving – forward.

Off-road driving adventures

can be done with greater

confi dence with the hi-tech

features found in Prado VX.

When starting up steep gradients

hill-start assist control (HAC)

carefully manages braking and

acceleration to reduce wheelspin.

Vehicles travelling on steep terrain

have best control when traction

is maintained at all times.

Downhill assist control (DAC)

keeps constant low speed to

maintain vehicle control by

preventing speed build-up

on steep terrain.

The strong, rigid chassis creates the ideal platform for both on and off-road travel.

Prado can travel far off the beaten track thanks to independent double wishbone front

suspension and a four-link rigid axle system at the rear ensuring the wheels stay fi rmly

planted. All models have a lockable Torsen type limited slip centre differential that helps

out when things get slippery underfoot. VX has a range of sophisticated technologies

that are constantly working in the background to assist when the going gets tough,

bringing greater levels of confi dence in the more severe conditions.

Prado has a high-integrity cabin and impact absorbing crumple zones that combine to

help protect occupants should an accident occur. Both models have four wheel disc

brakes supported by an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force

distribution (EBD) and brake assist (BA). Dual stage driver and passenger front airbags

are standard for both models, with side and front and rear curtain shield airbags on VX.

Because Prado will carry important cargo, including your family, a range of

comprehensive safety features have been built into both models.

Prado VX has four additional safety features that contribute to safer motoring and bring

greater comfort to all occupants. Vehicle stability control (VSC), active traction control

(A-TRC), hill-start assist control (HAC) and downhill assist control (DAC) are all standard

in the fully-featured VX model.

Inside there are appealing levels of comfort. The low

noise levels in the cabin rival those of many luxury

vehicles thanks to fl ush body surfaces, a rigid frame and

effective placement of insulation materials. This quiet

environment provides the perfect setting to enjoy the

powerful audio system which includes an in-dash MP3

CD player. Throughout the cabin there are plenty of handy

storage compartments and convenient cupholders.

Climate air conditioning, with driver and front passenger
