    1.0 INTRODUCTION

    This project provides a new grass roots bulk plant, named as WASEA Bulk Plant in the South Western corner of the Saudi Aramco land reservation at EWPS #3. This bulk plant will originally supply regular gasoline (91RON) and Ultra low sulfur diesel. It will ultimately supply two grades of gasoline and two grades of diesel. Although the initial demand at start-up will be approximately 185 MBD, this plant is being designed for a demand of 250 MBD in the year 2019.

    This project will also install a 16-inch diameter nozzle on DR-1 pipeline and a 16-inch transfer line from the DR-1 pipeline to the pipeline receiving station in the Tank Farm Area of the WASEA Bulk plant for gasoline supply. A 20-inch transfer line from the DR-2 pipeline to the pipeline Receiving Station in the Tank Farm Area of the bulk plant will also be provided by this project for diesel supply.

    The design calculation report includes pump head, pressure drop, line velocity, size and motor rating calculations.

    2.0 FOAM WATER SYSTEM FOR LOADING RACK AREA

    Minimum Foam Solution Flow Rate : Firewater demand for MRA as per 5.6.2 of SAES-B-017 = 0.1 L/m2-sec Width of diesel loading rack canopy = 20 m Length of diesel loading rack canopy = 40 m Area of diesel loading rack canopy = 800 m2 Minimum firewater flow required = 80 L/ sec = 1268 GPM Foam Water Flow Based on Sprinklers: (5 Bays Rack Max.) Width of diesel loading rack canopy = 20 m Length of diesel loading rack canopy = 40 m Maximum allowable spacing between foam spray heads shall be 3m as per SAES-B-070 Space between branches = 2.8 m Distance between Sprinkler = 2.8 m Protection area per sprinkler = 7.84 m2 Number of sprinkler required = 102 Sprinkler Number of branches = 14.29 Branches

    As per section 8.6 of SAES-B-70, the sump is to be designed for at least 5 minutes

    Foam water supply in the loading rack = 2120 GPM Hose reel allowance = 400 GPM Total fire water = 2520 GPM Total foam fire water in 5 minutes = 12600 Gallons

    Drain from OME building is Wash down assumed = 40 cu m / month = 1.33 cu m/day = 0.24 GPM (Neglected) Drain from the tank 0.05% of turnover of WASEA = 2.17 GPM (Neglected) (Drainage of water from the tank farm area although done on a periodic basis is negligible)

    As per section 8.6 of SAES-B-70, the sump is to be designed for also emergency drain of truck, So Capacity of one truck = 32000 Liter

    = 8465.61 Gallons

    Effective capacity of sump = 21065.61 Gallons = 79.74 m3

    Consider 20% margin = 95.69 m3
