ABOUT OUR PROJECT

•We approached people to find out what thought flashes in their mind when they hear the word ‘Friendship’. Initially, they were a little hesitant. Then, the question that popped up was -‘What really is friendship?’.The response to this question is what our project attempts to decipher.

PEOPLE WE INTERVIEWED

What does friendship mean to you???What does friendship mean to you???

Q.A)WHAT DOES FRIENDSHIP MEAN TO YOU?

• Most of the persons whom we have interviewed felt that friendship is a kind of relationship among people who care about each other. A friend will accompany you on the most boring of errands and make them seem fun. It demands time and effort to build the relationship, and it requires people to consider someone else more than themselves.

• They strongly believed that a friend would always provide an immense amount of support and comfort .

Q.B)HOW DO YOU MAKE FRIENDS?

• Everyone has a different attitude, but when it comes to making friends, they keep aside all the differences and remain friendly and interactive. We should be social as friends are an important part of our life. We should understand and treat them the way we expect them to treat us.

Q.C)WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO BE FRIENDS?

•  After interviewing a few people we found out that friends are those people who keep them socially "alive". People get lonely and want a person to confide in, and associate with. One of our most basic fears is being alone. Whether your friend is around the corner or in another time zone, just knowing he or she is there provides comfort. It gives you a sense of being connected.

Q.D)HOW DO YOU CELEBRATE FRIENDSHIP DAY ?

• “We don’t need a special day to give our friends what they deserve, but this is, dedicating a day in honour of friends who have added smiles and colours to our life is always being looked forward to.” said the people we interviewed. It is the day to let our best friend know how much we treasure him or her. After having interviewed some people, we concluded that friendship was commonly celebrated by-Tying FRIENDSHIP BANDS ; Sharing GIFTS; Spending time with BEST FRIENDS.

Q.)MENTION ANY ONE BOOK WHICH YOU LIKE ON FRIENDSHIP. WRITE WHY DO YOU LIKE THIS BOOK ON FRIENDSHIP?

• The Famous Five is the name of a series of children's novels written by English author Enid Blyton. The first book, Five on a Treasure Island, was published in 1942 which features the adventures of a group of young children – Julian, Dick, Anne and Georgina (George)  and their dog Timmy. The stories always take place in the children's school holidays after they have returned from their respective schools. Each time they meet they get caught up in an adventure.

Q.)  NAME ANY ONE FILM WHICH YOU LIKE THE MOST ON FRIENDSHIP. STATE WHY DO YOU LIKE THIS FILM?

• Three women -- Roberta Martin (Rosie O'Donnell), Samantha Albertson (Demi Moore) and Tina "Teeny" Tercell (Melanie Griffith) -- return home to reunite with their childhood friend Chrissy DeWitt Williams (Rita Wilson). The four lifelong friends share their memories of the unforgettable summer of 1970, the summer their innocent younger selves  grew up.

Q.)DO YOU THINK FRIENDSHIP HAS ANY NEGATIVE EFFECTS?• Almost all the people we interviewed knew that their friends can

affect their life in a way or another but what most people don't know is that this effect is far more powerful than they can imagine. Friends don't just influence our decisions but they can alter our view of the world, change our perception and turn us into a different person!!

EXPERIENCE

•This project enabled each and everyone of us to realise the importance of cooperation ,time management and responsibilities. From making an introductory video to action plan and interviewing people, we did it all. Every member played their role and each experience was equally enriching. Asking for people’s opinion was rather surprising. Each one was unique and individual.

CONCLUSION

• This project broadened our outlook on friendship and opened our minds with newer and fresher opinions. We have reached to the conclusion that friendship cannot really be described. Friendship means understanding and not agreement. It means forgiveness and not forgetting. Memories last even if the contact doesn't. Friendship is not just the big things, but million little things.

A FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND INDEED
