From Kathy our Educational Leader

Kindy ProgramOur new Kindy students have settled into Dboosh life very quickly and love being part of our community. The children are mentored and supported by our Senior students who are very caring and patient. They have played hide and seek, tug o war, Bullrush and soccer. They have done chalk drawings on the pavement, bubble play and playdough. They have dressed up as their favourite superhero and helped to serve the afternoon snacks. They have enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. Our Kindies are developing more self confidence every day through the many activities offered at Dboosh.

This is what Ethan had to say…I like playing with Chase and Jack. My favourite game at Dboosh is hide and seek. I like drawing vehicles and insects with on big paper with texta and collecting Pokemon cards.

DBOOSH Daily Diary

From Kathy our Educational Leader

We now have a daily diary which is displayed at the parent sign in desk where you can see what the children have been doing at Dboosh on a daily basis. Each day the children help to compile photos, artwork and Learning Stories about their day to share with you.

Nicky drawing in the daily diary

This is what Bea had

to say...The Daily Diary tells us what we did in the past. We can show it to our Mum’s and Dad’s and new families.

We also have a slide show viewer at the parent sign in table where you can see photos of the children enjoying activities at Dboosh each day. We would

love families to add

comments and write in

the book too!

Incredible Kids Day at DBOOSHOn Thursday 16th March DBOOSH celebrated Incredible Kids Day. All the children dressed up as their favourite superhero and participated in a superhero parade in the Hall. Those children who didn’t bring an outfit got to make super hero capes. The children got to create their very own super hero and choose what special power they would like to have. This was a great community event involving all the children.

This is what Jai had to say….

This is Fire Phoenix. When he gets angry he gets a blue ring around him and turns into a phoenix. His super powers are fire breath, light, everlasting energy and he is super smart. He only uses his powers for good. By Jai

What did the children learn?

The children are developing self-confidence, using their imagination and learning how to cooperate in a large group.

What’s next? More exciting dress up and performance events which involve all the children.

Thank you so much…..

Ana Lopez

Anda Ilie Victor’s mum for running our Sewing Club each Monday afternoon. So far the children have made scented heart pillows and puppets. Also thank you to Alice and Gary Grace Donnison’s parents who donated books, toys and a fantastic wooden train set.

I’ve lived in Australia for four and half years. My family are all in Spain. In Spain I studied Secondary School Teaching and majored in sport. I love any outdoor activity with the children. I think that good role modelling is the key to helping the children develop great life skills. When I’m not working I love to swim, play Spanish guitar, watch movies and hang out with my friends.

If you have any

unwanted toys at

home we’d love them!

Fee increase from Term 2 2017Dear Families,

We are writing to advise of a fee increase to take effect from the commencement of term 2, 2017. DBOOSH is a not-for-profit service and we aim to keep fees reasonable for families but need to simultaneously meet the costs of running the service.

Over the past 18 months, costs for operating the service have gradually increased and it is necessary now to meet these increased costs through a general fee increase. These increases are primarily due to increases in staff wages and general increases in food requirements, essential subscriptions and incursion and excursion costs.

From term 2 the following rates will apply;

Before school care $13.50 permanent and $16.00 casual ( $6.75/ 8.00 with rebate)

After school care $20.00 permanent and $23.00 casual ( $10/ 11.50 with rebate)

Vacation care $60.00 per day with $55.00 for early bird bookings ( $27.50/30 with rebate)

These fees are the full fee and do not include the reductions available to families through the Australian Government.

DBOOSH is a registered service. Accordingly, families using this service are eligible for the Child Care rebate. (https://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/enablers/claiming-child-care-rebate). All government rebates will still apply to all eligible families and this can result in up to 85% discount in fees. A 50% rebate on all our fees applies to all Australian residents who are registered for the child care rebate and is not means tested. Further reductions are available based on your combined family income and this is assessed through Centrelink.
