WHAT IS A PHOTOVOLTAIC PANEL?

A photovoltaic panel is a set of photovoltaic cells connected. Photovoltaic panels connected form a photovoltaic module.The main components of the photovoltaic cell correspond to the layers (in sandwich) of semiconductor materials (silicon

crystals) when the electric current is produced. Beyond the semiconductor materials, the solar cell has two metal contacts

on opposite sides, to close the electronic circuit. The whole is carefully encapsulated between a glass and a bottom, mainly

to avoid the degradation caused by weather conditions - wind, rain, dust, steam, etc..

By the action of solar radiation is created a difference of electric potencial in the semiconductor extremes. The photovoltaic

cells convert the solar radiation in electricity through processes that are developed at an atomic level in the materials that

they are made of.
