THE DEFINITION OF “SOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS” :

The sum of the social interactions between people over time. This can be a positive or a negative relationship.

Momentary social interactions can be described in terms of :

parental care, dominant-subordinate or aggressive-fearful interactions etc.

THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF IMPORTANT HUMAN/ SOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS:

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CHILDREN AND THEIR PARENTS:

This relationship is a special type of relationship which can be rich and varied.

In addition this relationship lays the foundation for all later relationships because it is intense and so much time is spent forming this relationship .

FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS

Refers to relationships which we develop with either our immediate family:

for example our parents and siblings with whom we live or with our extended families for example: aunts, uncles, cousins grandparents etc

STUDENT AND TEACHER RELATIONSHIP

you as a student spend a large portion of your day at school however you need your teachers for their knowledge and guidance. You should therefore have a good relationship with them together with your classmates

RELATIONSHIPS WITH FRIENDSA friend is someone whom you trust, feel comfortable with and share your feelings with therefore openly and honestly. A healthy relationship with a friend is something very precious and rare it is based on mutual respect, mutual interests, mutual feelings towards one another.

ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS

As preteens become teenagers and enter adolescence, romantic relationships emerge

In a healthy romantic relationship, both partners respect each other, Love, care and trust one another.

TIPS ON IMPROVING YOUR RELATIONSHIP:

Love, care, respect, appreciate and be able to provide support and comfort each other.

Resolve issues in a mature manner, do not use vulgar language or display abusive behavior towards your partner.

Spend time doing fun activities with each other.
