These are the poster we go most of our inspiration from

and as you can see this came from both old and

modern horror posters. We noticed that close up shots of a character/villain was effective because of the

intensity of how close the face is to the audience as well as the eyeline match

being straight forward, making it feel as though they’re looking at you or

watching you. We noticetd that the titles were often at the bottom of the poster but on our flat plan we put our

film title at the top however this eventually changed

when it came to editing on Photoshop because it’s more conventional and to follow

this we placed our pull quote at the top where it would

stand out more too.

This is the flat plan for our poster that Naomi created as a basis for our final product. Here you can see that this is

the image we did use for our final product and it allowed the flat plan to be designed and based around this. At first we

decided to have the film title at the top with a

small pull quote underneath however

with our Photoshopped version we changed this to have the title at the

bottom above the credits and the pull

quote large and centred at the top.

Shivani also made another flat plan as a second option if we were not to follow the first so

we had another option of what sort of layout we could follow. This one was based around an

image with a black background that we weren’t massively fond of because even though it was a good

image, we felt a white background would work better

because we’d have more freedom with font placement and colour as well as the text

being clearer, so we stuck with the first flat plan design. This flat plan also has the title at

the top because it would have been the only place it would fit due to the image’s positioning. The pull quote here would also have been to the side because

the image was to the other side but we didn’t like this

design as much because it’s less conventional of a

contemporary horror poster.
