1) Career Advancement: What are the possibilities for career advancement? What is the typical length of years that a person remains in this career---what age is retirement?Career advancements usually come as one furthers their education. One can go into the sports biomechanist field after completely graduate schooling and obtaining a Masters in Kinesiology with a specialization in biomechanics. From there, they can get jobs in research labs as lab technicians or as research assistants. If they choose to continue schooling, they can obtain their Ph.Ds and become professional biomechanists.

2) Continued Education: Is participating in continued education a requirement of a person working in this career? This could be the requirements of attending conferences, seminars, etc in order to maintain licensure or certification, etc. a. As mentioned, the higher the education, the higher and more specified the position. In order to become a legitimate sports biomechanist, you must obtain your Ph.D in Biomechanics. Although there arent any required conferences, the International Society of Biomechanics in Sports is an international group that regularly conducts meetings and seminars and has the following goals:i. To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas for sports biomechanics researchers, coaches and teachers.ii. To bridge the gap between researchers and practitioners.iii. To gather and disseminate information and materials on biomechanics in sports.

3) Benefits: List some benefits/positives of working in this career in which a person can affect a change?Sports Biomechanists help sports in two basic ways; both involve science. The first is service, which consists of analyzing coach and athlete needs, implementing relevant tests to determine athlete status, interpreting this information, and reporting back to coaches and athletes. This service allows athletes to modify training and enhance performance; however, cutting-edge investigations are needed to really push a sport forward. Therefore, the second element to our job is applied research and innovation, which involves conducting experiments on various aspects of training such as technique, conditioning, and technology.
