My name is Mauricio Andres Ramirez Lozada.

I am a bachelor in fine arts from the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University located in Bogotá, Colombia.

I use photography as a tool for exploring concepts related to identity, urban environments and its intersections.

Here you will find a display of earlier works as well as current projects, not in chronological order.

My home city proves to be a rough and even uninviting environment. This has actually proven to be a very fertile

ground to develop questions about my own place and the way I react towards the aparent inherit hostility of

the country I have been born into.

I know I am a city animal and I embrace it now.

Someone once told me that a real artist had to be able to create art from whatever he had around the corner.

I never really took this seriously, but I do understand now the importance of exploring my surroundings as a

fundamental part of getting to know myself.

A real artis has to be willing to try.t
