The project for the BauhausMuseum aims to reinterpret theBauhaus Movement in the 21century . My intentions were tocreate a building with clearfunctions distribution , to takeadvantage of engineer solutions inthe space creation, the creation ofa dynamic urban space that couldbe an attractive point to the cityand finally a building that coulddeal in harmony with the park .
In terms of volumetry the answerfor these intentions were thecreation of a set of volumesconnected at the ground floor butvisually free at the first floor . Thisapproach allows more relationbetween the museum , the parkand the urban structure around .This volumes are then coveredwith anodized aluminium so thatthe final picture is a kind ofchameleon building that reflectspartially its surrounds .

Stone, metal and earth are the
materials I choosed for my father’s
grave. With the stone I define the
limits of the grave, with the metal I
give the shape to the earth. On top
just a poem that summarize the
relation that my father had with
death.

Uhlandstrasse was a rehabilitationproject that took place at UK2Architekten. During this time Iworked in the interior spaceorganization of the building.Out of my work, I developed adifferent approach for a new flooron the top of the existent building. This new floor is characterized forthe existence of a terrace aroundthe empty space of a patio and bythe inclined planes that form thenew roof.

The project is situated atReeperbahn’s street, St. Pauli, awell-known district of Hamburg, famous for its night life. The projectconsisted in the rehabilitation oftwo collective housing building.Like on the previous project, out ofmy work, I studied as a personalinterest a solution for the façade ofboth buildings. Historically thebuildings have different stories, because of that, differentapproaches were taken. Where isnow the building 108, was before abuilding from the XIX century. Interms of composition, this formerbuilding was more interesting thanthe one that exists now. For thisreason I decided to reintroduce atthe ground floor, but in a differentway some of the geometry of thisformer building. The rest of thefaçade kept its openings but now, with different window frames, andis coating with polished darkschist. For the building 114 Idecided for an approach opposedof the 108. In this case the existentfaçade is covered with rustyCorten steel plates.

ideas competitionARQUITECTAR urban regeneration
The focus of this project was the
requalification of a building from
the XIX century situated in the old
downtown of Oporto, Portugal.
Once it was a project in the scope
of the competition,
Arquitectar, it was decided to a
more deep project approach. From
the existing building it was
decided to maintain the main
façade and reformulate all the rest.
The interior, the façade from the
quarter and the last floor were
completely reformulated and the
ideas
A new façade was designed that
in a first point could let the light
goes in at the lower floors and in a
second point that could work as a
filter between interior and exterior.
The façade consists in a set of
metal boards designed to control
the light entrance. Through laser
cutting and metal bending it's
possible to control the design of
each board allowing more light
entrance in the first floors and less
in the last floors.
functions of the building also
reviewed. The project was strongly
influenced by its surrounding more
precisely by the building that
confronts with the proposal in the
interior of the quarter.
This relation influenced the
functional program and the façade
design. The mentioned building is
separated from the requalified
building in 3 meters and is 13
meters high so the light entrance
in the first floors is very few, not
enough for housing.Metal bending

The project is situated in a farmand consists in the extension of ahouse belonging to a couple ofwine makers. The existent buildingwas built firstly to support thewinery activity and secondly toserve as a house. Lately theobjective of the client is to remodelthe existent old house of the farmand to live there. Because of thisconditions, it was important toevaluate how the house extensionwould interact not just with theexistent but also how it wouldinteract with the old house. In factthe house extension would have tooccupy part of the garden of theold house. Because of theseconditions it was decided todissimulate the house extension. As a way of doing it I decided towork with a fence that could definethe terrain limits of the old housebut also that could integrate anddefine the limits of the houseextension.

1: The citizens experience2: The performance result
The city of Guimarães has
witnessed a chaotic, complex and
polemic urban transformation over
the last few months. But, at the
same time, in social terms, has
been a fascinating and magnetic
transformation.
We continuously find many and
large groups of people around the
different intervention areas, being
these areas either bigger or
smaller in scale.
Such are manifold and much
differentiated situations, but they
nonetheless share a common
characteristic: they take place
around the areas undergoing
transformations of the urban
scenery. This allure is an intense
one and it works as a centre of
social attraction. If we dig into our
visual memories, we will see that
this phenomenon now occurring
on the streets of Guimarães
actually pretty much anywhere.
If the transformation of the urban
scenery has this great ability to
generate social activity around it,
why not then keep this situation
over the entire course of this
event's time period?
Reduced to its minimum
expression: a worker; a simple
operation (a hole in the ground);
and the setup of the necessary
protections. The operation will last
just long enough so as to generate
the desired expectations and
curiosity. On completion, the
worker will start the same
operation elsewhere, he will close
the initial hole and disassemble
the protections, resuming the
operation on a new settlement.
Thus will turn into a continuous
process of permanent assembly
and disassembly all over town.

THE (GREEN)HOUSE
This Project aims to requalify asmall house built for more than 50years. The house is located in arural zone it was also used as aplace to support agricultureactivities. Without any conditions tobe used as a habitation it wasdecided to augment the house atthe 1st floor level through thedisplacement of the southwestwall. Once the house was visuallypermeable by other houses, it wasdecided to create a free spacebetween the old granite walls onthe 1st floor and the new interiorspaces. Like this there are alwaysa layer between interior andexterior. Because the new buildingwill be occupied by farmers, it wascreated a greenhouse at the top ofthe building.

The house, situated at the bottomof a hillside, was used for manyyears as familiar habitation on the1st floor and as support toagriculture on the ground floor. Therelationship with the surroundingenvironment is always direct and ismade through a set of windowsmostly situated in the northelevation of the house. The mainobjective of the project is thecreation of intermediate spaceswhich could allow more privacy tothe inhabitants as well as thecreation of a system that permitsthe entrance of more light in thehouse. For this purpose it wasdecided to push the house untilthe exterior south wall and use theexistent north wall of the house asa surface to reflect light. Betweenthese two elements there is thenew local to access the interior ofthe house.

The door in a cemeterysymbolically defines theseparation between the world ofthe living and the dead. The doorwas intended to convey solidityand robustness, like the largetombstones of certain cultures ofancient times. If in a first time thecross is in an oblique positioninvoking the load of the cross byChrist, in a second time, alreadyinside the vault, she acquires avertical position by invoking theencounter with God.

COLLECTIVE HOUSING

First floor plan
This collective housing projectaims to address essentially to two
points: firstly to enhance andconsolidate the urban context in
which it operates and secondly, tocreate housing typologies
exceptions that could enhance thebuilding.
The shape of the building hasmuch to do with the presence of
the viaduct in which it exists. Thiselement, not frequent in the urbanscene, plays a unique role in this
area of Porto. The strongcirculation road that passes
through it, "draws up" motion linesthat influenced the design of the
building.
