    GOLF ARCHITECTURE AND LAND PLANNING

  • Spanish Wells Spanish Wells

    Hole #2 186 Yards

    Hole #4 390 Yards

  • This type of hole is designed for golfers to play ball position for an eas-ier shot to the intended target area and be able to score well. In this example, golfers must try to place the ball left of the center of the tee. There are no haz-ards, however, the prevailing winds can push ball to the right, or moving the ball in the direction of the water hazard. Good ball location in the fair-way will provide a better angle for your second and third shot. Missed shots are not severely punished. Placements of trees are impor-tant for aesthetic reasons and to guide the player for ball position and should not interfere with the playability of the hole. Your second landing area is designed to aim for the left side of the fairway so the mounds will push your ball to the center of the fairway. Notice that the hole is telling you where to play. The third shot to the green is where a skilled player must execute his or her short game. The green will be shorter in depth but wide and places a premium on putting abili-ties. You must think!! and execute.

Second Landing Area Maximum of 35 Yards

First Landing Area Maximum of 35 40 Yards Wide

  • Par 4 Blue: 416 Yards White: 383 Yards Red: 300 Yards

    Scale: 1=200

Bite off as much as you can. Risk takers will be rewarded with a shorter second shot..

This hole type provides a player with the challenge of risk and reward. The player decides how much he wants to risk from the teeing ground. Playing it safe will result that your second shot to the green will be longer, and miss the opportunity to make a birdie or par. The expense is loosing one stroke. Taking the longer route to the green, (risk value) there is little room for error, but a significantly shorter approach is your reward. Your chances of making birdie has increased or at least make par.

  • Barclay Club at P.G.A. Na-tional

    West Palm Beach, Florida

Barclay is a 175 single family unit development in the prestigious com-munity of PGA National. We master planned this 40 acre community among an existing golf course and it was one of the first project in Florida to use the z-shape zero lot line con-cept. This project receive numerous accolades and awards for master planning and landscape architecture.

    LHermitage Coconut Grove, Florida

In 1992 Hurricane Andrew caused a tremendous damage to this 7-1/2 acre luxurious town-home community on Biscayne Bay. We redesigned all the land-scape, hardscape and water fea-tures and restore it beyond its original design.

Habitat at Hideaway Beach Marco Island, Florida

Habitat at Hideaway Beach is a 9 acre high-end low-rise community in a prestig-ious Planned Unit Development known as Hideaway Beach. The site is surrounded by an existing golf course in a natural setting.

We created a series of aquascapes and wa-terfalls along with indigenous native mate-rial that would integrate with the existing natural setting, thus providing excellent views to the golf course and all the garden areas.

  • Establishing a Sense of Entry Establishing a Sense of Entry

One of the most important element to any project is the entrance visual impact. This can make or break your project. It is the very first impression a person sees that will influence him/her to either pur-chase in your community or stay as a guest if it is for a resort. It also makes a statement as to the quality of development that is being created.
