Pool Athletes’ Victory
Pool Athlete’s Victory!
Pool athletes had a very successful afternoon at Carn Brea, with the Junior Boys starring this time, emerging victorious, helped by wins by Solomon Woodard (200m A string), Carl Buzza (200m B string) and Harry Cantellow (300m). The Inter Boys were missing a few of last week's winning team, but Ben Bodilly and Reece Cocks did a great job, filling in at the last minute and victories from Jordan Walklett (Long Jump) and Ben helped them to 2nd place. The Junior girls improved to 3rd position this week, with a win from Jasmine Jacka in the B string 200m and 2nd to Megan Stearn in the 1500m being high-lights. The Inter Girls also took 3rd with a solid team performance. Martha Carlisle's 2nd in the 1500m and Jenna Griffiths 2nd in the Long Jump were excellent, as well as Jenna's 3rd in a very high quality 200m. Picture: The Inter boys team relax between events.

Impressive Work
Last week, as part of his Bronze Arts Award, James Kistle taught a fantastic drama lesson to
8JMS. James impressively taught the class about the different explorative strategies that are used
in Drama lessons, with the focus on Cross Cutting.
The lesson started with a warm up activity and then the class worked in small groups to create
short scenes demonstrating their uses of different strategies. They were then asked to focus specifi-
cally on how they could show two separate scenes on stage at the same time using Cross Cutting
and produced some interesting and surprising results!
When asking for feedback, 8JMS told James that he was a “very confident young man” and that
his lesson was very “creative and fun”.
8JMS behaved exceptionally well, and James gave Mr Best a run for his money!
If you are interested in taking the Arts Award, please speak to either Mr Best or Miss Smith in the
Drama office.
