JULY 2019 Esta’ Fiesta Our special event this month was mucho fun. The entertainment for the evening, Brigitte Ciccarello, wowed the crowd with her stunning authentic handmade outfits. She had the audience dancing, clapping and shouting “Ole’!” Residents came to the party dressed for the fiesta with their sombreros and maracas. The margaritas were a resident favorite and dining services treated us with delicious foods for the occasion. We had empanadas, tortilla chips and fresh guacamole for dipping. We also had some of the best peach salsa you’ve ever tasted because it was made by The Barrington residents and to top it all off was a sweet cinnamon churro. Thank you to all who came out and made this fiesta one of a kind. Fourth of July Come and celebrate Independence day with us. There will be food, games, music and prizes. Hope to see you there! Poker Players Wanted Ladies’ Poker will meet Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in The Billiards Room on the 2nd floor Men’s Poker will meet Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. in The Billiards Room on the 2nd floor. Welcoming Our New Activity Director! From time to time, a new face in leadership joins us, and we are so excited to have brought on Activity Director, Jamie Ruthardt! If you haven’t had the opportunity to meet her yet, you will. Her experience in elevating opportunities for seniors, leading by example and her creative outlook are changing the direction of activities for all, and we couldn’t be more excited about what is to come! I want to take a moment to briefly introduce you to Jamie. She was born in Huntington, W.V., and moved here to Florida when she was very young. After attending Largo Middle School and Largo High School, she married her high school sweetheart. They have three children, two grandchildren and one on the way (oh baby!). Jamie has a love of the ocean and all the creatures in it. She also loves music; the Oldies, of course. Jewelry-making is one of her favorite hobbies, which she has already brought into the rotating schedule of activities for residents. Jamie started working in activities in 2005 and realized what a love she has for Seniors and wanting them to live the best life they can. She also is very involved with her church and enjoys volunteering there weekly driving the van. Jamie states, “I am already falling in love with my new job here and look forward to many happy years and fun times to come.” Help us welcome Jamie to the Barrington family! What a fabulous team of Directors we have here, wouldn’t you agree? Each is here to support their areas to ensure your utmost comfort, service and enjoyment. Please let us know how we can continue to make living at the Barrington special. Sincerely, Angelique Joan and Rose having a great time! Brigitte, Ryan, Naomi and Joan wearing their sombreros! Albert and Marie dressed up for The Fiesta! Rin and Irma showing their patriotism.
