Join in the excitement surrounding the arrival of Ventura and enjoy a special

‘welcome party’ on board Britain’s newest and most inspirational superliner.

During her inaugural celebrations, Ventura will spend two fun-filled days

stretching her sea legs and showing you just what an exciting and innovative

ship she really is.

Ventura’s ‘welcome party’ sails to Bruges on Friday 11 April and is your chance

to enjoy a glittering introduction to life on board this magnificent family friendly

superliner. Truly unique, but distinctly P&O Cruises, you will discover an

experience unlike any other as well as a real party atmosphere.

As Ventura sails you northwards to explore one of Europe’s most charming

regions, you will have time to get to know Britain’s latest superliner. From the

engaging modern artworks, adorning her decks, to exclusive features styled by

popular British designer, Nick Munro, this superliner is bursting with personality.

Be amongst the first to enjoy the breadth of experiences she has to offer.

Unwind in her thoroughly indulgent spa. Set free your inner child as you bounce

on her bungee trampolines or play on her oversized Scalextric hosted on this

special occasion by Murray Walker. Sit in her super cool bar, Metropolis, sipping

a cocktail and gazing at her giant video wall, captivated by spectacular real time

footage of cities around the world. Our younger passengers will even be able to

say they were one of the first to meet Noddy at sea or to join Rock School.

When it comes to dining, Ventura’s culinary choices are certain to satisfy your

appetite. As well as enjoying the chance to sample wonderful Belgian

confectionery whilst ashore, on board you can dive into a diverse selection of

menus and dining experiences. Choose to dine in Marco Pierre White’s Italian

inspired fine dining restaurant, The White Room. Enjoy a relaxed meal ‘Spanish

style’ in lively Ramblas. Savour classic dining moments in one of her stylish main

restaurants, Saffron, Cinnamon or Bay Tree. Or infuse your palate with the

aromatic Pacific-Rim flavours served up in East.

Join Ventura’s two-night ‘welcome party’!Be captivated by the romantic vistas of Bruges or gaze upon the

medieval beauty of Ghent. From Zeebrugge you can discover one of

Belgium’s two most charming cities.

Ventura’s ‘welcome party’ is not just about discovering life on board this

magnificent superliner, although that is sure to be the highlight. You will also

have the chance to step ashore to discover a little bit of Europe.

After enjoying your first spectacular evening on board – fine cuisine, dancing and

dazzling shows - you will awake the following morning to find Belgium at your

door. Where you choose to spend the day is entirely up to you.

Bruges

The historic city of Bruges is simply spellbinding. Serpentine canals crisscross

pristine cobbled streets. Church steeples rise elegantly above a picturesque

skyline. Stately buildings adorn bustling café lined squares. And chocolaty

aromas drift from almost every other shop doorway. The best way to explore

the city is on foot. Alternatively try something a little more romantic – a guided

boat ride down its tranquil waterways, gazing out to rows of traditional

merchant guild houses.

Head to Market Place around lunchtime, to admire some of Bruges’ most

famous buildings - the Belfry Tower, Town Hall and the Gothic style Chapel of

the Holy Blood. Enjoy the spring sunshine as you sit down to a continental style

lunch in one of the many restaurants that pepper the vicinity. Spend the

afternoon wandering around the city’s unique collection of shops and market

stalls. From delicate lace to quality tapestries, you can take home some

beautiful souvenirs.

Ghent

Ghent is similar to Bruges in many ways with its gabled houses, narrow cobbled

lanes and picturesque beauty. Its rich medieval heritage does, however, give it a

charm all of its own. To reach this delightful city from Zeebrugge you can enjoy

a relaxing journey through scenic Flemish countryside. On arrival you will be

greeted by the pleasant bustle of life here.

The historic heart of Ghent is also best discovered on foot, as it enables you to

explore every hidden corner and really get a feel for the layout of the city. For

culture lovers, there is wealth of architectural treasures to enjoy. A stroll over

St. Michael’s Bridge, which overlooks the old river port offers a great view of the

‘Row of Towers’, consisting of St. Nicholas Church, the Belfry Tower and

St. Bavo’s Cathedral Tower – which holds the famous painting of ‘The Adoration

of the Mystic Lamb’. Treat yourself along the way to a velvety rich hot chocolate,

a different, but equally indulgent way to sample Belgium’s speciality.
