The five domains of practice for the PMP remain the same. The tasks within each domain have been modified, added, or removed.

• Initiating the Project– 3 tasks added – task 2, task 7, task 8

• Planning the Project– 1 task added – task 13

• Executing the Project– 2 tasks added – task 6, task 7

• Monitoring and controlling the project– 2 tasks added – task 6, task 7

Changes in PMBOK Guide

• The 6th Edition of the PMBOK Guide is expected to release on 1st Quarter 2017

• The Cut-over date for Exam with current set of announced changes is 2nd November 2015

• Last date participants will be able to take the exam based on 5th edition of PMBOK guide is 1st Quarter in 2017

Myths about PMP® Exam® Aspirants need 35 PDUs to apply for the PMP® exam

» Contact hours are required to apply for the PMP® exam and PDUs are required to maintain the PMP® credential once you clear the PMP® exam

» The minimum score needed to pass is determined by the overall difficultly of your individual exam

® Passing score for PMP® exam is 61%» There is no documented set marks or percentages to pass the PMP® exam» From November 2005 onwards, PMI® stopped publishing the passing percentage and adopted

psychometric analysis to calculate the passing score hence this assumption is not valid anymore

® You must memorize the Inputs, Tools & Techniques, and Outputs (ITTOs)» There are more than 500 ITTOs in The PMBOK® Guide and to the key is to fully understand the

concepts of each process not the memorization of the ITTOs» Most of the questions relate to how or why a specific ITTO is used in a process and

memorization will be of no use to you when answering those types of questions
