Ploiesti Ploiesti is the county seat of Prahova
County and lies in the historical region of Wallachia in Romania.

Ploiești has direct access to the PrahovaValley, one of the most important alpine tourism area in Romania.

History Ploiesti Though likely settled much earlier,
Ploiesti was first mentioned in documents in the 16° century, during the reign of Mihai Viteazul, Prince of Wallachia. It flourished as a center for trade and handicraft manufacturing in the 17° and 18° centuries.

Economy After the Romanian Revolution of 1989 ,
Ploiesti experienced rapid economic growth due to major investments from foreign companies.
The city has become a hub f foreign investments. Companies such as Shell Gas, British American Tabacco, Timken, Coca cola, Bricostore, Auchan ecc..
There are two McDonald’s restaurants in Ploiesti.
