What is Reiki?

The original term for Reiki is “Shin Shin KaizenUsui Reiki Ryoho” or “Usui Reiki TreatmentMethod to Improve Body and Mind”. It is a non-religious healing technique founded anddeveloped in Japan by Mr. Mikao Usui (1865-1926).

Reiki is an art of hands-on energy healing. Itworks for both physical and psychologicalaspects of health by reactivating the naturalhealing ability that humans originally possess.

A Reiki treatment is administered by apractitioner who receives Reiki energy from theUniverse. With simply laying-on of hands, thepractitioner transmits the energy to the receiver.

What is Jikiden Reiki?

The word Jikiden means “directly passed downfrom one’s teacher”.

Mr. Tadao Yamaguchi and his mother ChiyokoYamaguchi founded the Jikiden Reiki Kenkyukai(institute) in 1999. The seminars are based on theteachings Chiyoko Yamaguchi received from Dr.Chujiro Hayashi, one of Mr. Usui’s prominentstudents.

One of the most important assets of Jikiden Reikiis Chiyoko’s 65 years’ devotion to it. A prominent characteristic of Jikiden Reiki is itssimplicity.
