All healers use life force energy, but not all use Usui Reiki Universal Life Force Energy.It is possible that some people are born with the unique essences of Universal Life ForceEnergy flowing through them. However, most healers who have not received the Reikiattunements from a Reiki Master or a Reiki Master Teacher are using another kind of energy.

This book has been designed as an instruction manual for those receiving the Reiki IIattunements and certification. While it contains information which is beneficial to thoseinterested in becoming Reiki Practitioners, the ability to give Reiki treatments can only betransferred to the initiate by a Reiki Master or Master Teacher through attunements.

The instructions contained within this book are also intended for use by Reiki Masters,Reiki MasterTeachers and their Initiates, and are not meant to serve as an independent guidefor self-healing.

REIKI II TRAINING AND ATTUNEMENTS

The Reiki I initiations guided you to a higher level of awareness. You chose to takeresponsibility for your place in the universe. You chose to become a part of theever-growing number of healers who have accepted their path, and are now channelinghigher energies and resources into our earth plane. I am sure that by now you havediscovered the joy and privilege of channeling the Universal Life Force Energy and assistingin the healing process for yourself as well as for others.

And now, you have chosen to take another step into the higher level of Reiki II. Forthis, you are honored and respected by all. Know that you are not alone, and that you arenow being constantly guided and supported as you follow your path.

In Reiki I certain symbols were sealed into your field. These symbols opened andaligned energy centers within your body so that you could safely channel higher vibrationsto the earth. You are about to learn the names, forms and uses of three of those mostpowerful symbols. The two initiations that accompany this training process will prepareyou and your field to channel the more intense energy that comes with knowledge of thesesymbols.

With the Reiki II training and attunements, you can expect your consciousness to beraised and your intuitive abilities to intensify. Trust in this process. It is as it should be.You have chosen to follow your true path, and now you are receiving many gifts which willempower you and enable you to do your work on a higher level.

Please acknowledge the sacredness of these symbols and understand the Reiki traditionof keeping them confidential. These symbols were only meant to be shared with thosereceiving Reiki II training and attunements.

I have found (and it has been proven over and over again) that the symbols you areabout to receive are of little use to anyone without the attunements that accompany them.However, in keeping with the Reiki tradition, we ask that you do not share these symbolswith anyone who has not received Reiki II certification.

Once you receive your Reiki II attunements, the symbols that you are about to learnwill be activated. Your teacher will instruct you in magnifying and directing the energyfrom these symbols to benefit both yourself and others. You do not have to restrict the

When studying eastern texts, one learns that many healing practices in the world makeuse of healing sounds and symbols. Upon further investigation one discovers a remarkablesimilarity to the Reiki symbols in these various practices. (Once again the old isrediscovered as the new).

Watch for life's doors to spring open as you make use of this "new energy" in your life.Be aware as information you knew before you came into this particular existence (butforgot once you took the human form) becomes newly discovered and available to you asyou journey on your path to raising the vibration of the Whole with Unconditional,Universal Love, through healing, balancing, and enlightenment.

Again, remember that the more you use Reiki and keep Reiki in your consciousness,the more you will receive.

WHY ARE WE HERE?

The cross is a universal symbol. To many it signifies Christianity and reminds themthat Christ died on the cross, reportedly for our sins. But the cross was a symbol longbefore Christianity or before the Master Jesus came to Earth to teach us. Its vertical bar("Raku") represents the love or vibration of the Creator meeting, joining and mergingwith the horizontal bar ("Kei") representing the vibrations or soul of the collective.

Look also to the Star of David or the New Age version of the same symbol, knownas the Aquarian Star. It encompasses two triangles. The lower triangle representshumankind raising and opening its vibrations to the higher. The upper trianglerepresents the higher opening and sharing its vibrations with humankind on earth.

See also the Yin Yang symbol representing two energies, the masculine and thefeminine, the higher and the lower, each flowing into and being a part of each other.

Planetary astrological symbols repeatedly speak of the "cross of matter," the "circleof spirit" and the "crescent of soul."

Today, with the continual raising of our vibrations, our minds are beginning to openas never before. We are learning that what we once considered "reality" is really"illusion" and what we once considered "illusion" IS "reality." Old, misguided Truthsare giving way to new Truths through what I call Metaspiritual Awakening.

We have barely begun to explore, let alone harness or manipulate, the energy of themagnetic field. You cannot see or feel the lines of energy that carry communication intoa car or phone or transistor radio. And yet, these "miracles" do happen. The horizontalbar of man is expanding.

Centuries ago only a chosen few were called upon to channel or help bring the verticalbar or vibration of love and healing to Earth. The vibration of the Creator was in balancewith the vibration of mankind. Those who chose to spend their lives in prayer, meditationand ritual gave themselves to the purpose of carrying the higher vibrations onto theplanet. They taught the masses in stories and parables so that each would hear whatthey were ready to hear, accept what they were ready to accept, and use what they wereready to use.

Today our stories and parables can be found in the entertainment media. Advancedshows speak of future worlds filled with peace and cooperation. Science fiction stories temptus to broaden the limits of our minds. Movies and TV teach us a type of morality. Theyappeal to different levels of the subconscious.

Test yourself for the effects. Watch violence and news shows for two weeks, and tuneinto your thought processes. Then meditate and listen to comforting music, watchinspirational shows for the same length of time, and see how your life changes.

Reiki will help you raise your level of awareness to the meaning and messages beingprocessed by your subconscious.

On another level we have the explosion of technology, the increase in population, thebroadening use of energy and recognition of energy fields; the connection between thecreative life force and humankind is out of balance.

A chosen few (many in number, but still a fraction of our total population) are neededto help rebalance this ancient contract between the higher and humankind. Reiki is justone of the vehicles offered to those few who have accepted this responsibility to bring balanceback into our world. Many are called to Reiki because many are needed for the work.Those who continue with Reiki are those who are dedicated to helping heal and balance theplanet as well as all Life Forms.

It is no accident (or coincidence) that you have chosen to be here during the EarthChanges. You have contracted to be here and to play the role of healer as the mostwonderful chapter in the history of Earth is about to be written. You have spent manylifetimes in preparation for this exciting event.

MORE ABOUT UNIVERSAL LIGHT ENERGY

Throughout time mankind has looked for sources of light energy, from the very ancienttimes of cavemen in their quest for fire through the atomic quest of today. Energy is theprime source of all of our accomplishments.

In ancient times long forgotten, very wise sages recognized the need for increasing theflow of what has be termed Vital Life Force Energy of "Ki" in Japanese, "Chi" in Chinese,"Prana" by the Hindus, "Mana" by the Kahunas, "Ka" of the Egyptians, "Baraka" ofthe Sufis, and "Wakan" of the Sioux. It is the "manna" of the religions and philosophiesof the world.

We have modernized energy and spiritualized it. We have used it to prove an afterlifeby our theories that energy can neither be created nor destroyed. We are learning andaccepting what humankind has known for ages. It is through the manipulation of VitalLife Force Energy that all thoughts, feelings and actions take place. The ancient sagesrecognized that one of the primary obstacles facing humanity in the evolutionary processwas an inability to totally link the remarkable chain of cause and effect.

The links within the chain of cause and effect are what create our reality. We knowthat if we touch a hot surface there is potential for being burned. The body rapidlyrecognizes this and very seldom repeats the experience. However, in the creation of ourthoughts and feelings in our day-to-day activity, the law of cause and effect often seemsdistantly separate. It is vitally important in our ever-changing society that we begin torecognize the laws of cause and effect.

Even the Bible hints at the effect of our thought patterns when declaring that an act isfirst committed in the mind. I believe the spirit of this passage was not to condemn a personfor his/her thoughts but to encourage him/her to take responsibility for the energymanipulated by those thoughts.

Throughout our long history, the knowledge of what we now call Reiki has passed inan unbroken lineage through Master Teachers. The Reiki initiates often felt or perceivedan increase in the Vital Life Force Energy.

Modern technology now offers us a way to prove this ancient technique. ThroughKirlian photography (a process which photographs the actual auric field using electricalmeasurements), Vital Life Force Energy and its change through initiation can be visiblyseen.

The Reiki initiation process (or the attunement process) is likened to a single candlewhich, when lighted, can light hundreds of thousands of candles without ever taking anyenergy away from itself and yet the environment grows even brighter.

Many myths have spoken of a race on earth that was very powerful andknowledgeable. The biblical story of the Tower of Babel tells of humankind fullycooperating with each other. Cooperating in the construction of a tower to reach theHigher.

Could it be that the human race had the mental capacity to build a symbolic towerto enter the energy field of the higher for the purpose of obtaining energy keys, but theywere not yet wise enough to use it? In the story, the tower was struck down and all thedifferent languages created. This prevented humans from the cooperation needed toadvance.

Another myth speaks of Atlantis, a continent filled with a race of people far advancedof today. Atlantians knew how to harness energy fields, but did not have the wisdom tocontain their power. Consequently, they were destroyed.

I feel that it is important at this time to also mention the Island of MU that was situatedin the Pacific Ocean. The people of MU were highly advanced spiritually. Because ofEarth Changes, legend tells us that most of the island sank, but that a portion of it brokeoff and became a part of the west coast of the United States. Legend goes on to say thatthe MU survivors were forefathers to some Native American tribes.

I believe that many Atlantians and MU's have reincarnated in this lifetime in orderto balance their spiritual and intellectual sides. Although I did spend a brief lifetime onAtlantis, I am from the Island of MU. My husband and soul mate is Atlantian. Wecontracted to be together this time around to balance and support each other and to learnfrom each other. I believe that this is true for others. Many of our friends, co-workersand clients have close friends or mates who are here to support and balance. Where oneis more spiritual, the mate or close friend is more intellectual. This makes a great dealof sense since we are here during these Earth Changes to work towards balancingourselves and the planet.

We do not know how the pyramids were built or how Stonehenge was erected. Wecannot explain numerous archeological finds. We theorize that an advanced race fromanother planet must have been involved. Perhaps it was an advanced human race.

In the Bible, as well as other metaphysical sources, it is reported that there is helpavailable from the higher. Over and over we are told of the abundance that awaits. Againand again we are told to ask and we shall receive; to knock and the door shall be opened.

Kryon (the entity who is in charge of altering the magnetic grid which is, in turn,causing the Earth Changes) tells us that we are like ants crawling around a generatorlooking for power. Energy and power come from the Love God Source, and is all aroundus. All we need do is open our hearts and third eyes and "see the forest through the trees."

Some believe that symbols represent the keys to the barriers which have preventedus from becoming aware of higher energy, and that the symbols rediscovered by Dr. Usuiare just such keys. Hawayo Takata kept these secrets for nearly forty years. For overthree decades she did not initiate anyone to third degree Reiki. Then, when the time wasright, she began to pass along the secrets. She initiated twenty-two Reiki Master Teachersto increase the spreading of this energy.

In the First Degree Reiki attunement process the chakras are gently opened andaligned, then sealed to protect them so that the flow of Vital Life Force Energy cancontinue throughout our lives.

The quality of our lives is based upon this energy. Clarity of mind depends upon therapid flow of Vital Life Force Energy. The essential quality of our being and all of ouraccomplishments are based upon this primary flow of Vital Life Force Energy.

When the First Degree is established, the energy centers within the palms of the handsare gently opened. The process continues when the student applies the First Degreeenergy by coming into contact with self, another individual, plants or animals or anythingthat has Vital Life Force Energy. When that contact is made, it is as if two magnets havebeen brought together and an irresistible pull and flow of energy is established.

Unlike some healing techniques where the energy flows from the healer to theindividual, with the Reiki system energy flows from an unlimited and exquisite source oflight energy from dimensions beyond our understanding into and through our physical,mental and emotional bodies to the individual or place that we direct it.

Reiki is a powerful and natural system that unlocks the inner flow of Vital Life ForceEnergy within the sender and the receiver. It is an evolutionary process that increasesthe natural flow of events and the patterns of manifestation within life.

Reiki allows us to begin to understand the underlying patterns that operate throughour lives. If there are patterns that no longer serve us they may be changed and altered,and if there are patterns that support us in our evolution, we may copartner and assistthem for greater and more powerful manifestation.

Reiki is a science which enhances the appreciation and understanding of all religionsand philosophies by adding greater natural light energy and enabling the individual tocomprehend the origins of each one's own chosen path.

Using Reiki on a daily basis synchronizes and energizes the vital meridians andacupuncture points of the body while continually aligning and balancing the major chakrasor energy centers in the physical and finer bodies. Reiki is a fast, safe, effective and efficientscience. It is a natural healing system that is in perfect harmony and symphony with otherhealing and wholing techniques and practices and can be used as a support system thatacts in conjunction with all healing practices.

Continual use of Reiki provides greater and greater holistic wellness which means thatwe are dealing with preventative health care rather than curative. Many people are mildlyaware of the energy drains created by day-to-day life. We have also become aware thatwe drain energy from each other through confrontations and control dramas.

Notice the different energy environments created by different groups at different times.The energy created in a union meeting where the focus is on different job training, jobadvancement, or the unity of the group creates a high-spirited, nurturing and renewingenergy. Feel the change when the discussion turns to greed and fear and personal demands.

Walk into any church and feel the energy of a sermon based on loving one's neighbor,healing oneself, caring for each other and the planet. Walk into another church and feelthe energy created by a sermon filled with hellfire and brimstone, righteousness, fear anddamnation. Learn where your own energy drains occur. If, through whatever means(whether physical, mental or emotional), our energy system decreases or begins to flowout from us at a faster rate than we can receive it, we become weak, edgy, nervous andprone to "dis"ease.

We are now in a critical time period where we are sensing the rising levels of whatCarl Jung calls the collective unconscious. This affects humankind mostly in the immunesystem. Our immune system is a remarkable and divine transmitter of the signals of highlevel wellness for our life.In today's society, we need more stability and balance than everbefore. We need to re-establish our own unique and healthy environment by learning howwe can re-energize ourselves. The regular use of Reiki will help us do just that.

The symbols and sounds you will receive with your Reiki II training and attunements areenergy keys. They can best be likened to an antenna system that is used in today's society totap into the ever-present radio and television frequencies. We know that there are manyfrequencies, both radio and television, which permeate the environment in almost all areasof our country, and yet because they operate at a frequency beyond our conscious awarenessthey are, to the most part, invisible. However, if we use a specifically tuned antenna and amechanism such as a radio or television receiver, we are able to tap into these frequencies andre-establish them as sound and light vibration and thereby receive the benefit, information,entertainment and the experience that is being broadcast on these unique frequencies.

When activated, Reiki works both interdependently and dependently of states ofconsciousness. It operates very much like turning on a light switch. Whether you are old oryoung, rich or poor, educated or uneducated, the flow of energy begins if you know how toturn the switch on. Once the Reiki activating attunements are set in place, Vital Life ForceEnergy begins to flow whenever your hands come into proximity of a life force. Reiki IIincreases the energy by turning up the rheostat (or volume).

If we look at the ancient temple drawings during the time of Akhnaten in Egypt, we willsee that the sun has rays that end in hands. There is the hand in the Middle East with the eyein the middle. We find symbols showing the healing nature of the hand in all societies duringall time periods. It is the intuitive and instinctive level of the mind that knows it has the abilityto heal the body.

If we injure a part of the body, we instinctively place our hands on that place. If we cutour finger, the first thing we do is grab it with the other hand. This comes from the ancientand intuitive knowledge that the body has the ability to heal and reconstruct itself. Our bodiesare created upon a precise electronic blueprint of Vital Life Force Energy. Our thoughts,feelings and energy fields can impact that blueprint. With the use of the Reiki II symbolicenergy keys, the impact of the intent to heal or provide healing is even greater.

All consciousness is Light and Sound. The more Light and Sound we can access throughour individual lives, the more we will begin to understand ourselves, our lives, our place inthe Universe, and our ability to cooperate with our fellow beings.

Reiki is a pathway of continual illumination; love light, understanding, peace, compassion,honor and integrity. We intuitively know how to use it. It is one of the easiest and most naturalforms of healing there is. Reiki opens up a greater flow of life energy. In those times whenwe may injure ourselves, the Reiki flow of energy helps us to heal much more rapidly. Evenmore important, by being aware of how our body functions in a more congruent and powerfulstate, we prevent accidents and injuries.

REIKI II SYMBOLS

Your Reiki II attunements will balance the left and right brain hemispheres (yin andyang balance). The three symbols you receive will allow you to activate multiplied energy,mental clearing and do distance healing. As I mentioned before, these symbols should betreated as secret and should not be shared with anyone who has not been prepared and hasnot been initiated into Second Degree Reiki.

The three Sanskrit Symbols you are about to learn have a distinct vibration of thehighest spiritual implication when utilized properly. They are drawn either with the handor the third eye as the names of the symbols are spoken either aloud or silently. Every timethe enactment of the Reiki symbol or symbols occur, unseen forces are activated. Thedegree of the power of activation depends on many things including the clarity of thepractitioner as well as the ability and willingness of the client to accept the energy.

All of the symbols can be used in hands-on or in distance healing practices.

The hand positions in Reiki II are exactly the same as in Reiki I. The only differenceis the drawing of the symbol (or symbols) on the body with the finger(s) or palm of thedominant hand. The drawing of the symbol(s) may be done with the finger(s) directly onthe body or about an inch above the body. When using the palm, you would hold it aboutan inch above the body. You can also draw the symbol(s) on the body with your Third Eye.

Every time you use a symbol, you will draw it once and say it three times. This can bedone in any order you wish. In other words, you can draw the symbol first, then say itthree times. Or you say the symbol three times and then draw it. I have learned (andprefer) to say the symbols three times while I am drawing them. This may seem a littledifficult at first (especially with the third symbol), but once you get the pattern down, Ibelieve it is actually easier. Try it all ways before you choose which one is right for you.

As you will remember from your Reiki I training, it is important that your fingers aretightly closed in order to focus and direct the energy that is coming from your palm. It isfor this reason that when I physically draw the symbols on the body I do it with the tips ofall of my fingers. Your Reiki Master/Master Teacher will instruct you the way he/she drawsthe symbols. Always remember that as long as you keep your fingers together, you candraw the symbols in whatever manner is comfortable and effective for you.

CHOKU REI

The first symbol you are going to learn is pronounced "Choe KooRay." This is what I refer to as the Power Symbol. You will learn touse it for many things, but with regard to your Reiki Treatments,Choku Rei is the "command" symbol. It literally commands and callsin multiplied energy from Earth and Spirit. The symbol draws energyfrom the universal source and activates the other two symbols. Itdirects and focuses power.

The "Cho" is the curving sword, making a Ku (space) penetrating where there isnothingness, and calling "Rei" the spirit, power and essence.

You can also draw the Choku Rei in a mirrored form. This willintensify the energies of the symbol. Draw the left symbol with your lefthand and the right symbol with your right hand.

Choku Rei is used to clear the energy in a room by lifting and dispersing any negativeenergy or vibration. You can use it to neutralize chemicals in water or air and to make

food healthier. It is especially helpful in clearing sick rooms, even within a hospital.

I use the Choku Rei to cleanse and activate my stones before blessing them. There isno limit to its uses. Just let your intuitiveness take over and I am sure you will come upwith many uses for the Choku Rei.

Drawing the symbol directly on the body will bring healing energy to that specific place.When I am giving a Reiki Treatment and find an area that is in need of extra healing energy,I always draw the Choku Rei directly on that area. Remember to always say the symbolname three times while you mentally or physically draw the symbol.

When you begin a Reiki Treatment, stand at the head of the table. After you center andground and bring in the White Light, place your hands on the crown chakra of your subject.This is when you will say and draw the symbols.

Sandwich the other symbols in between the Choku Rei. In other words you will beginby drawing the Choku Rei and saying it three times. Then draw the second symbol, sayingit three times. Then draw the third symbol and say it three times. Conclude by drawingthe Choku Rei again and saying it three times.

SEI HE KI

Sei He Ki is pronounced "Say Hay Key." It is what we call the DeepSeated Emotional Healing Symbol. It is connected to having the key,since it is a direct link to your own subconscious or to another person'ssubconscious. Clear your mind when you use this symbol, as it is apowerful tool for emotional healing. It calms the conscious mind andallows the subconscious material to well up and become conscious forthe necessary healing.

The "Sei" is a budding state with things hidden inside. It is the originof external form. "He Ki" is the Japanese word for the base chakra

that is out of balance. It represents a strange practicality and calls a balance to things thatare hidden. It resonates to potential harmony.

This symbol is used to clear hidden emotional and mental problems, and is veryeffective when dealing with addictions or habits that are in need of adjustment.

The Sei He Ki balances and aligns the upper four chakras for mental, spiritual andemotional balancing. When using it for this purpose on yourself, place your hands forthree minutes over the heart, and three minutes over the throat chakra. Then place themfor three minutes over the third eye position. Place the heel of both hands at the back ofyour head with your fingers over the crown. You WILL notice a wonderful difference!

HON SHA ZE SHO NEN

Almost all geometric designs give off energies of various frequencies,even when just drawn upon paper with an ordinary pencil. Designs suchas spirals, cones, crosses, and abrupt right angle designs have a molecular-electric influence upon the neuromuscular system of the body.

Jung called it the collective unconscious, but he was not the first to namethe river of knowledge. Ancients called it the "sympathy of all things."No matter what name we choose there seems to be a universal reservoirthat flows with a stream of powerful cosmic memories that we contact (or,perhaps they contact us) through dreams, visions and symbols.

When you look at and study the Reiki symbols, you may tune into thefact that they are used to communicate with a higher form of energy. When we are bornwe are given a name. In writing our name we must use geometric patterns. So, thesegeometric patterns in a specific order can become Whitney Murdock . . . or StephenMurdock. I do not have the energy that is Stephen Murdock, but I do have a way (usinghis name) to call that energy to me and to access the knowledge, help and healing containedin that energy. I have a way to send messages to the energy known as Stephen Murdockvia a system of writing that directs energy called the "mail."

So too with the Reiki symbols. Of themselves they are not powerful or spiritual. Butused in conjunction with the Reiki initiations and treatments for the purposes of bringhigher education, healing and assistance, they become most useful and powerful tools.Welcome them into your knowing; into your field.

The Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen is pronounced "Hon Shah Zay Show Nen." It is used to callfor and direct healing energy. It is the symbol of Distant Healing.

The "Hon" is the center, essence or start. It is the essence intrinsic to the subject. "Sha"represents shimmering energy. "Ze" represents advancing on the correct course towardthe "Sho" which is the target of this honest being, "Nen," or stillness thinking in keepingwith the deepest part of the mind (shimmering essence advancing on the target).

While the Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen is mainly used for sending distance healing, it is also apowerful tool for self-healing and "getting to the heart of the matter." It is for this reasonthat I heartily recommend using it with every Reiki Treatment.

DISTANCE HEALING

By the time you enter Reiki II, you have undoubtedly experienced and enjoyed the useof Universal Life Energy. You have experienced the flow of Reiki through your mind,your hands and your spirit. You have seen or felt the joy of transmitting this loving energyto another through touch. It is a natural progression to go from transmitting the energythrough touch to directing it over a distance via the use of the Third Reiki Symbol, HonSha Ze Sho Nen.

At first, most of us met with our own skepticism about the use of Reiki. Now, havingdealt with that to one degree or another, we meet with a new skepticism on the powers ofthe mind to direct this energy at a distance. Once again we are asking ourselves to setaside old belief systems. Once again we are asking our minds to open to the concept ofsomething that seems impossible.

Science has made great breakthroughs during this century. Many of thesebreakthroughs are helping us to open our minds to even greater unseen possibilities. Itwas not so long ago that it was unbelievable that one person could be speaking in one cityand heard in another at virtually the same moment with no obvious connection. Yet todayradio and television transmission via unseen waves is taken for granted. Satellite telephoneconnections to all parts of the world are no longer considered miraculous. On yet anotherlevel we are no longer amazed at what were once unbelievable tales of ESP.

Physics is opening yet another door. It is the time to go beyond Einstein's theory ofrelativity (once considered to be the final discovery). John Steward Bell published histheorem in 1964. It mathematically supported the concept that "subatomic particles,"(which all physical reality is built upon) are connected in some way that transcends timeand space. Affect one particle and a domino-like reaction occurs with other particles.This reaction is immediate and does not need time to be transmitted. Bell's theory tapsinto our ability to instantaneously connect with each other and the world.

In Einstein's local reality influences cannot travel faster than light. Bell's theorem saysthat in any reality of this sort information does not get around fast enough to explain thequantum fact: Reality must be non local. In a mathematical proof that has been confirmedby numerous experiments, Bell showed this.

Bell and experimentalists who have come after him have proven that this local worldof ours must rest on a deeper reality that is non-local. Although the world's phenomenaseem strictly local, the world's deeper reality is maintained by an invisible quantumconnection whose ubiquitous influence is unmediated, unmitigated and immediate.

METHODS FOR DISTANCE HEALING

We are getting closer and closer to acknowledging and accepting (if not understanding)the concept of a Universal Mind. In our work with energy and light we then have thecapacity within to connect to another in a way that (in the past) may have been considereda gift only a few have. In a very short period of time (I'd say within the next ten to twentyyears) we will all be doing it on a daily basis. We all have that capacity NOW.

With the use of the Reiki II Symbols we are able to tap into a knowledge (a power) thatis only hinted at by science. Meditate on and use the Reiki II symbols often and you willexperience new doors opening in your awareness. It's an adventure to go where Reiki willtake you.

There are many ways of sending Distance Healing. I am listing two of those ways alongwith the method we use at our Reiki Connection. You are welcome to use any of thesemethods or to create your own, using your unique intuitive abilities. As long as you usethe symbols in the correct order, anything else you do will be right. Always keep in mindthat with Reiki you cannot do anything wrong. Intent is the key. As long as the Intent isthere, the Reiki healing energy will "do it's thing."

METHOD #1:

Picture a person in your mind, or use a photo of a person or self, or write the person'sname and location on two sides of a piece of paper. Or, you may designate something torepresent the person (i.e. "My knee will represent Mary Smith's head, my thigh is herbody, etc.").

Another way is to visualize the person in front of you, then shrink the picture to thesize of a baby doll and visualize the doll in your arms. Allow the imaginary doll's head torepresent the head of the person you are sending Distance Healing to, etc.

You can also request the essence of the person to be in one hand and do the appropriatesymbols with the other.

Start with the Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen , drawing it and saying it three times. Draw witheither your third eye, your finger(s) or your palm. Then draw the Choku Rei, saying itthree times.

Draw the Sei He Ki in the third eye position, saying it three times.

Hold both hands over the essence (or picture or paper or knee) for five to fifteenminutes.

You can use the Reiki I hand positions on the essence or simply continue to send energy.

End with drawing the Choku Rei and saying it three times.

METHOD #2:

Get a picture of the subject.

Put both hands on the right knee and say "I invoke the hermetic law of similarities."

"My right knee is (Mary Smith's) head. My right thigh is the front of her torso. Myleft thigh is the back of her torso."

Say the subjects name three times, then add "You are free to accept or reject thishealing. The Reiki energy is healing, harmonizing and balancing."

Draw the symbols on the 3rd eye of the picture with your finger(s) in the same orderas mentioned in Method #1.

Leave your hands on the right knee for five minutes. You can do the symbols on theknee and the thighs in the same way.

Complete by putting your finger tips together to break the flow.

REIKI CONNECTION METHOD:

After centering, grounding and bringing in the White Light, place your hands on eitherknee and say "Let this knee represent (Mary Smith)."

Draw the Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen on the knee, saying the symbol three times.

Draw the Choku Rei on the knee, saying the symbol three times.

Draw the Sei He Ki on the knee, saying the symbol three times.

Leave your hands on your knee for from three to five minutes.

Complete by drawing the Choku Rei on the knee, saying the symbol three times, thentouching your fingertips to break the flow.

HELPFUL HINTS FOR DISTANCE HEALING

1. You might encourage your subject to use the following affirmation: "Divine Intelligenceguides my thoughts, words and actions this day." (Or use it yourself).

2. The Distance Healing should be performed three days in a row for best results. It ishelpful if you can send the energy at the same time each day and from the same locationto the same location. Always remember that each person has the responsibility to acceptor reject healing energy.

3. Some Reiki Practitioners recommend speaking the name of the recipient aloud threetimes, saying "I wish this healing to be connected to (use the name and the affliction orproblem if known plus the area where the energy is to be directed)." Again, I encourageyou to find the distance method that feels right for you.

4. Once the healing session is concluded you may choose to end it by saying, "I wish thiseffort to be used for the well-being of all entities upon the planet who choose to acceptit."

6. Do not direct energy in an indiscriminate way. If you do, you sent it forth fragmentedinto infinity.

7. Do not assume that another human wishes to be healed - even though he/she verballyexpresses the desire to be healed. Ask the subject's Higher Self to either accept the energyor direct it to the planet to help heal.

8. Keeping in mind that you are not the Healer, but the Tool for others to heal t hemselves,I recommend that you always ask the subject's Higher Self it it wants to be healed. Theway I do this is: After centering and grounding and bringing in the White Light I askmy Higher Self to ask the subject's Higher Self "Do you wish to be healed?" I immediatelyget a response, whether it be actual words echoing in my ears or a feeling. Sometimesit's a resounding "No!" Most of the time it is a "Yes." If it is a "No," send love andcompassion to the subject.

9. If the subject has verbally requested Distance Healing, go ahead and send it, but I wouldadd "I am sending you this healing energy at your verbal request, but I honor your rightto choose whether or not to accept it. If you choose not to accept it, please re-direct thehealing energy to Mother Earth and all those who choose to accept it."

10. You use energy every moment of your life. You do so without thinking aboutit, and so have no doubt. Each time you raise your arms you use energy andyou have no doubt that the arms will be raised. KNOW that when youconsciously wish to direct Life Force Energy, it IS directed. Just as your armsfollow the energy command, so your thoughts carry your energy command.

11. When you bring forth doubt you dissipate the energy. Practice using theenergy even when you feel doubt, but take special care to honor the energyand honor your intentions.

SIMPLY PUT: AWARENESS DIRECTS THOUGHT.THOUGHT DIRECTS ENERGY. ENERGY FOLLOWS THOUGHT.

WHERE AWARENESS IS FOCUSED, LIFE ENERGY ISCONCENTRATED.

ON BEING CERTIFIED

Now that you are a Reiki II Practitioner, your commitment has been established andyour responsibilities have increased. You may find yourself overwhelmed for a shortperiod of time. This is to be expected. You see, once you received your Reiki IAttunements and Certification and experienced the joy in sharing this wonderful healingprocess with others, you naturally wanted more than to just give hands on healing.

You may have leaped into becoming certified as a Reiki II Practitioner without realizingthe tremendous responsibilities that accompany your choice. Please know that your ReikiMaster/Master Teacher would not let you do this if he/she felt you were not ready.However, once you receive the Attunements, you DO realize that you have made acommitment to the Universe. You may wonder "What now?"

My advise to you is to relax, give yourself a lot of Reiki and "go with the flow." TheUniverse will not allow you to leap into anything before you are ready. In a short periodof time you will be focused and you will realize that everything is going as planned andyou are on the right path.

I cannot reiterate enough how proud I am of you and how honored I feel that you havechosen to follow your path. Even though I may not personally know you, I know that weare all interconnected. By choosing to honor your commitment to the Universe andworking together with other healers, you have made my path even more joyous andfulfilling than it was before. WHERE DO YOU GO FROM HERE?

As you continue on your path, you may choose to continue on to Reiki III to achievepersonal growth, transformation and increased enlightenment. You may even choose tobecome a teacher as well as healer and continue on to the Reiki Master and Master Teacherlevels. For those of you who are interested, I am including the criteria for receiving yourReiki III, Reiki Master and Reiki Master Teacher training, Attunements and Certification.

THIRD DEGREE REIKI(Karuna Reiki)

Third Degree Reiki is for personal growth, transformation, increased enlightenmentand serving humanity from a universal framework. It is available to anyone who hascompleted the first and second degrees and who has given at least 50 Reiki treatments (eitheron themselves, on other life forms or through distance healing).

With Third Degree Reiki you will learn a symbol which helps you open your third eyeand connect to and magnify your own intuitive gifts. If you receive your training,attunements and certification from myself or any of my Reiki Master and Master TeacherInitiates, you will also receive the attunements and training for using the 6 Karuna Reikisymbols.

Karuna is a Sanskrit word and is used in Hinduism, Buddhism and Zen. It is translatedto mean any action that is taken to diminish the suffering of others, and could also betranslated as “Compassionate Action.”

In the experience of enlightenment, it is reported that all beings are known to be ONE.Therefore, it is natural to extend “Compassionate Action” (or Karuna) to everyone withoutdistinction. Karuna is the motivating quality of all enlightened beings who are working toend suffering on Earth.

As you develop Karuna in yourself, not only are you helping others, but you also becomemore receptive to the healing energies that are being sent by all enlightened beings.

Karuna Reiki is the same healing system taught by Dr. Mikao Usui, but with a newname and a new focus - the development of Karuna. Third Degree Reiki (Karuna Reiki)consists of two activating attunements, training on how to use all of the symbols mentionedabove and certification. Because of the larger number of symbols, this process takesapproximately 3 hours. While there is NO fee for the Third Level (Karuna Reiki), a LoveOffering to Unified Trinity Church is greatly appreciated.

THE REIKI MASTER DEGREE

The Reiki Master Degree is traditionally reserved for individuals who intend to devotetheir lives to the art of healing - those who experience and study the natural flow of theUniversal Life Force and who have chosen to experience the necessary attunements to teachand share this experience with others. Initiates attaining this level will receive two activatingattunements and complete instruction in giving the intricate attunements for Reiki levels I, IIand III.

Requirements for receiving the Reiki Master Degree include:1) Certification in Reiki I, II and III.2) Recommendation by a Reiki Master Teacher.3) Proof of completing at least 100 Reiki treatments.

Reiki Masters and Master Teachers instinctively know whether or not an Initiate is readyfor the Reiki Master Degree. Usually, the Initiate also is aware of his or her readiness to becomea Reiki Master. The requirements mentioned above are designed to assure that those seekingthe Reiki Master Degree have the desire to follow the path of a teacher and healer and to helpothers awaken to their True Path. The Reiki Master Degree usually takes about two to threehours to achieve. The cost for the Reiki Master training, attunements and certification willbe discussed in private with the Initiate.

THE REIKI MASTER TEACHER DEGREE

The Master Teacher level of Reiki takes the teacher one step further by teaching the Initiatehow to place the appropriate symbols in the field of others, thereby initiating new Reiki Mastersand Master Teachers.

Requirements for receiving Reiki Master Teacher Certification:1) Certifications for Reiki I, II, III and Reiki Master.2) Recommendation by a Reiki Master Teacher.3) Initiate must have practiced Reiki for at least one year.4) Proof of at least 200 Reiki treatments.5) Write a 1,500 word (or more) thesis on any subject related to Reiki which must be

reviewed and approved by the Reiki Master Teacher. (Thesis should be typed and double-spaced, with footnotes giving credit to any resource material.)

The Reiki Master Degree takes approximately 1 hour to achieve. The cost for the ReikiMaster Teacher training, attunements and certification will be discussed in private with theInitiate.
