Three things a participant must have to participate in Airsoft Encounters 1. An Airsoft Encounters Waiver Form signed by a Parent (available during online

registration). 2. Proper Eye Protection (see requirements below) 3. A proper Barrel Blocker/Barrel blocking device.

1. AIRSOFT ENCOUNTERS SIGNED WAIVER FORM After reviewing the Safety Regulations and Equipment Policies in this document you will have an opportunity to print out or digitally sign the AIRSOFT WAIVER FORM. This must be submitted online or on your person or with an adult leader at all times while participating with us at any Airsoft Encounters event. 2. PROPER EYE PROTECTION You must have proper eye protection to participate in any Airsoft Encounters event. Our definition of proper eye protection is eye protection designed for airsoft that meets

or exceeds (ANSI) Z87.1-2010 safety regulations for impact.

3. BARRELL BLOCKING DEVICE “BARRELL BLOCKER” Airsoft Encounters Events require that all airsoft equipment has a Barrel Blocking Device in place at all times when un-cased. It must remain properly in place until you get on the playing field OR are instructed to remove it by a team leader or official. 4. Know the Orange Cone Area (OCA) rule: The OCA is a safe zone and is the only area where you can remove your proper eyewear.

Page 3: Please read the Airsoft Safety Regulations and Training ... · 400 fps or less with .20g BBs for sniper rifles. 1. A "sniper rifle" is defined as any airsoft equipment producing a

Several types of eye/face protection are common 1. Eye protection – Effective but provide the “least amount” of protection because they do not provide a “seal” between the face and the protection.

2. Goggles – Effective and provide “a better amount” of protection for the eyes because they provide a positive seal to the face preventing a pellet from entering from a stray angle.

3. Face protector- Effective for protecting nose and teeth and in some models (as shown) the ears. This will provide “an increased amount” of protection, but as you can see, there can still be gaps between the face guard and the protective eyewear around the cheek area.

Page 4: Please read the Airsoft Safety Regulations and Training ... · 400 fps or less with .20g BBs for sniper rifles. 1. A "sniper rifle" is defined as any airsoft equipment producing a

4. Full face mask- Effective and provides the “most amount” of protection because it protects the face (some versions the ears*) and most importantly the teeth! Airsoft is so much fun there is a lot of smiling which can provide an opportunity for an airsoft pellet to connect with a tooth and potentially cause harm.

*Ear protection is advised BARRELL BLOCKING DEVICE “BARRELL BLOCKER” Airsoft Encounters Events require that all airsoft equipment has a Barrel Blocking Device in place at all times when un-cased. It must remain properly in place until you get on the playing field OR are instructed to remove it by a team leader or official. Airsoft equipment that will not be used and remain in the case does not need a Barrel Blocking device. As soon as you bring it out of the case for any reason, it must have a Barrel Blocking device properly in place. *A proper holster is considered a barrel blocker for a pistol as it covers the trigger.

If you do not have a Barrel Blocking device when you attend an Airsoft Encounters Event you could also - 1. Borrow one (we have many) 2. Buy one there (provided at cost $1.50) 3. OR leave the event until you get one

Airsoft Equipment FPS (feet per second) LIMITS

All airsoft equipment that are “brought in” by players will be chronographed at the field or indoor event for compliance. 350 fps or less with .20g BBs for outdoor games. 300 fps or less with .20g BBs for indoor games. 400 fps or less with .20g BBs for sniper rifles. 1. A "sniper rifle" is defined as any airsoft equipment producing a .20 gram pellet speed in excess of 350 fps regardless of design. 2. Sniper rifles may not be full-auto and are limited to standard/midcap magazines. 3. Players fielding sniper rifles must be approved by the team leader based upon maturity and training. NO EXCEPTIONS.

SAFETY REGULATIONS

Orange Cone Area (OCA) Before entering the playing field or indoor CQB (Close Quarter Battle) Zone you will see an Orange Coned Area (OCA). The OCA is a safe zone and is the only area where you can remove your proper eyewear.

When you're leaving the game field (covered below): 1. Unload your Airsoft equipment (covered below) 2. Safety your Airsoft equipment 3. Put on your Barrel Blocking device THEN you may enter into the OCA.

AIRSOFT EQUIPMENT HANDLING PROCEDURES All Airsoft equipment must be properly cased & unloaded before entering the parking lot to the event and before entering into the Orange Cone Area (OCA). There is absolutely no shooting, EVER in the OCA. (See How to properly unload your Airsoft equipment) All Airsoft equipment is considered "loaded" when a magazine (with or without bb’s) is inserted into the “magazine well” and or, there is a pellet in the chamber. When to Unload Your Equipment: You are free to unload your airsoft equipment at any time, however you MUST unload it under these circumstances: 1. Directed to do so by a team leader. 2. When leaving the playing field and before entering the OCA. 3. If you somehow leave the field by any other prohibited means.

HOW to properly unload your Airsoft equipment

Automatic Electric Equipment (AEG) 1. Remove magazine and store in a pocket or magazine pouch. 2. Set selector to "Semi-Auto." 3. With the airsoft equipment pointed in a safe direction, take 2 or more shots to ensure the chamber is clear and to relax the spring. 4. Set selector to safe 5. Put on your Barrel Blocking device. Gas-Blowback Equipment (GBB) 1. Remove magazine and store in a pocket or magazine pouch. 2. Check the chamber to make sure it is clear. If any BBs are in the chamber you must remove them. Use of a clearing rod is recommended. 3. With the airsoft equipment pointed in a safe direction, dry fire the equipment to make sure it's empty. 4. Set the safety. 5. Put on your Barrel Blocking device

Spring or manual-operated equipment - "Springers", Sniper Rifles, Spring Shotguns 1. Remove magazine and store in a pocket or magazine pouch. 2. Move cocking mechanism back and forth several times. 3. With the airsoft equipment pointed in a safe direction, dry fire the equipment to make sure it's empty. 4. Set the safety. 5. Put on your Barrel Blocking device

Airsoft equipment may be loaded under the following circumstances:

1. You are wearing proper eye protection AND you have entered the playing field OR 2. You are wearing proper eye protection AND the order to load your equipment is given by a team leader.

GAME PLAY RULES 1) Each player must wear proper eye protection at all times on the game field. NO EXCEPTIONS…. IF YOU DO REMOVE THEM, AND WE SEE IT, OR HEAR ABOUT IT FROM A TEAM LEADER OR BY TWO OR MORE WITNESSES….YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE GAME AND/OR THE EVENT. YOUR SAFETY IS FIRST PRIORITY TO US. Keep your proper eye protection on at all times until you reach the OCA! 2.) Treat all airsoft equipment as if it were loaded. 3) ALWAYS point the airsoft equipment in a safe direction; never point it at anyone or anything you don't want to shoot. 4) ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot. Rest your finger on the trigger guard or along the side the equipment. Until you are actually ready to fire, do not touch the trigger. 5) Know your target and what is behind it. If you miss what will you hit? Think first shoot second. 6) Never joke around or engage in horseplay while handling or using airsoft equipment of any type. (No retaliation) 7.) The games start and stop on the whistle blow or air horn.

Page 8: Please read the Airsoft Safety Regulations and Training ... · 400 fps or less with .20g BBs for sniper rifles. 1. A "sniper rifle" is defined as any airsoft equipment producing a

8.) Shots anywhere to the body, including gear, are considered a hit. Airsoft Equipment hits do not count. 9.) When you are HIT by a “bb” (airsoft pellet) - immediately yell out loud "HIT!"

- Quickly place the “Red Rag” on your head, - Hold your airsoft equipment upside down and walk out of the action to the designated area for that game.

-Don't get in the way of other players. Try to move into in inactive area. -No talking or giving your airsoft equipment to other active players, you're no longer part of that game!!!

10.) When you're within 10 feet of your opponent you must call “SURRENDER!” Surrender rules work like this:

- Once in a good position within 10 feet to positively hit your opponent you must yell out “SURRENDER”.

- Your opponent has the option to immediately lower their airsoft equipment to the ground and surrender with their hand(s) up or…

- Your opponent can decide to turn and take a shot. - If your opponent makes ANY movement towards you to shoot, you may take

a shot to get them out.

*If you have any issues or disagreements stemming from a Surrender Call, settle it with your team leaders immediately. 11.) Shooting without looking at your target is called “blind firing” and is NOT allowed. This means you cannot stick your airsoft equipment around a corner, or stick just your airsoft equipment over cover, or thru a window to shoot. You MUST be able to see what you are shooting at. This is very dangerous and NOT cool. 12.) If there's any problem during the game, an injury, some kind of emergency, yell out "BLINDMAN!" and keep yelling it until help arrives or situation is resolved. If you're not the one who started the Blindman call, keep repeating it until you hear a whistle blow. When you hear “Blindman”, you must safety your airsoft equipment and stay in place unless directed by a team leader. All game play must stop. Don't move to another position. If you're near an opponent, back up to the nearest cover. When you hear the second whistle blow, the game is back on. 13.) No player may climb to any height higher than they can reach standing on the ground. Approx. 6ft. You will be removed from the game by the witness of a team leader or two or more players.

FIELD ETIQUET (a.k.a manners)

1.) There is no reason to fight or start name calling. If you have an issue with someone, try to work it out peacefully with each other on the field. If you can't, get a team leader to help you. Any fighting is potential reason to be removed from the game or banned from all Airsoft Encounter events permanently. 2.) There is no reason to swear. It's not necessary and not appropriate. Swearing, insulting or bullying any player or team leader is cause for potentially being removed from the game or games. 3.) If you find something that does not belong to you please give it to a team leader so we can find its owner. 4.) Please respect the playing field and everything on it. We are so blessed to have such great places to play the game.
