The leaves may soon be turning, but if you ask me, this is one of the liveliest times of the year to get out and enjoy what Roanoke has to offer.

The fall colors will add a welcome decoration to our greenways, trails and parks. Speaking of parks, if you’re looking for a good reason to get out this coming October, be sure to check out our Go Outside Festival at River’s Edge Park. It’ll be packed with an array of outdoor adventure activities suitable for the entire family.

If you’re more into team sports, gather up a group and check out our officially sanctioned adult flag football league starting in September. Your team can actually use this league to qualify for state and national tournament bids. Whether it is during one of our many activities or just as a leisurely weeknight outing, we invite you to get out and experience the nature of one of our beautiful parks this fall season.
