To meet the needs of Mediterranean States and their agricultural and rural sectors, CIHEAM-IAMM is engaged in three synergistic activities Research – Education – Cooperation Its networking capacity allows CIHEAM-IAMM to mobilize the expertise of multiple stakeholders (decision-makers, professionals, teachers, researchers, civil society) and to propose alternatives for sustainable rural development, at the crossroads of science, innovation and diplomacy.
THREE MISSIONS FOR DEVELOPMENTIN THE MEDITERRANEAN
Created in 1962, the International Center for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) is an intergovernmental organization which gathers 13 States. CIHEAM, including its 4 institutes and headquarters, brings the topics of agriculture, food and rural territories to the global debate on the Mediterranean.Biennial ministerial meetings provide opportunities for regular high-level discussions on these core development issues.
