My magazine will be mainly focused on the genre of Rock, and so the articles could include up and coming Rock artists, as well as articles on previous Rock songs and some on Rock ‘legends’. As well as this, I would like to present my magazine as one that is tailored to people who are very much a part of the rock genre and who regard it as a large part of their life. This will create a feeling of inclusivity for the readers of the magazine. Also I would like the magazine to appeal to people who are artists and who are in bands themselves, to do this I would have to dedicate certain articles to these people, which would include information solely for them, for example, equipment and instruments that they can buy, as well as tips on performing and practice. There will also be offers on tickets for gigs and performances. The magazine will be a weekly magazine, I chose this because this magazine would have to be informing people on what is going on in the Rock world and would therefore need to be up to date. The price will be £3.00 as it is fitting for a weekly magazine. In a survey that I carried out for my research, I found that the answers were generally equal, when concerning gender, I would therefore have to reflect this in my magazine. To do this I would have to make the articles and the content of the magazine not gender biased in any way. This will also help the magazines publicity, as it will reach a wider audience if it is not focused on one gender. For the name of the magazine, I have chosen ‘The Amp’ as this name fits in with the band theme of the magazine.

STYLE SHEET

The use of the red will create a contrast with the previous darker colours, therefore it will bring the reader in as it stands out.

The use of these colours first three colours is to make the magazine look black and white, therefore creating an aesthetic of old and classic on the front page.

The use of grey and white is a similar colour to those used in printing presses, this creates a tie-in to conventional newspaper production. As well as this the two colours work well with any other colour and do not create and unnatural look

These are the first prototypes for the front covers of the magazine, in the actual magazine, the text would be fully coloured red, and the image would be black and white

This is the very basic contents page that I have designed, I have purposefully made it quite simple because I do not want the reader to be bombarded by images and content, I would prefer that the reader was introduced to the magazine with images and content that are pleasing to the eye.

For the double page spread I have taken inspiration from other magazines and I will aim to use some of the themes and methods they use in their double page spreads.

This double page spread from Kerrang! is a good template for my double page spread as it has the same colours as my magazine as well including similar themes. This double page spread from

Q magazine is also helpful because from this I can take ideas such as splitting the page in two with an image and text. However I would not like to add to much text as I want to keep the reader interested.

OrganisationModels For models I will use myself and people I know

PropsAs for props I will use only one, and that is the guitar from the front cover.

CostumeFor costume I will not need to purchase any clothes and will use the ones I own and the clothes of the models that I have chosen.

LocationAs for location there are several suitable spots that I know of, including a brick wall and a field with trees in, like the ones in the front cover prototype.

LightingAs for lighting I will not need any studio lights and will use natural lighting, however this will mean I will have to rely on the quality of the weather which could be problematic.
