Idea 1 Idea 1 by: Mansib Rahman Thriller Subgenre: The subgenre for my idea would be a techno thriller, which means it will be about computing and the latest high-tech technology. Intended Target Audience: The target audience for my idea should be around 15-20 because the film will contain strong violence, foul language and discriminatory language or behaviour. Setting: Urban city, crowded areas with tall buildings. Idea: A shot of a young men with a briefcase on his hand and a USB stick on the other hand, coming out of a modern building. He gets a phone call and picks up the phone while holding the USB with two fingers, He says,” Okay, I’ll meet you there!” Which will create an enigma for the audience where they ask themselves “What is he talking about?” Then a transition occurs of the other person waiting on a table in front of a restaurant, while the other person with the USB stick and briefcase comes and sits right in front of him. They talk about business and the man with the briefcase gives the other man the USB stick and tells him,” Take them down!”, as the USB stick contains a computer virus. Then the man with the briefcase walks away and the other man stares at the USB for a while with a close-up shot, and walks away. Then a black fade-out transition displays on the screen and the camera moves to a different location to the person’s

Idea 2 Idea 2 by: Shakil Stanley Khan Thriller Subgenre: The subgenre for my idea would be an action

thriller, meaning that there will be a lot of violence. Intended Target Audience: The target audience for my idea

should be at a range starting from 13 to 25. Idea: The plot starts off with a boss man who’s in his mid-30’s

calling a hit-man and a hit-woman and trying to get both of them assassinate each other. By the time a detective and a chief are getting involved in this case. Causing many chase scenes and fight scenes between the five individual, this film represents the idea of corruption and betrayal. Towards the end the hit-man, the hit-woman stand equal distant from the boss man, forming a triangle. The hit-man and the hit-woman point a gun at each other, which will create more suspense for the audience.

Idea 3 Idea 3 by: Leon | The Maniac (Horror to Thriller remake) Thriller Sub-Genre: The two sub genres we have within the film would be comedy as well as a main sub-

genre theme such as a Psychological thriller. Intended Target Audience: The intended audience for this type of film would be males around the ages of 18

to 22. This is because the trailer will contain gore scenes as well as a level of maturity. Setting: The setting of the trailer will be in an indoor location, preferably in a claustrophobic place. This is

because it will allow the idea of conventions such as false peaks of suspense and isolation. An ideal location for this would be in a suburban neighbourhood for instance. Idea: The trailer will begin by visually seeing a blacked out screen with a news report (From a radio) playing

in the background. The first few ideas that I thought about while comparing them to past film trailer was the process of the film.

The trailer is going to be centred on two characters, and the idea is that they are going to be occupied with a certain task. They begin discussing a topic about news they have just been hearing about on the radio.

During this topic they will talk about the events and act childish by trying to scare each other; however what they don’t know is that the antagonist is going to be the one doing the scaring.

The two characters are going to be isolated when one of them is going to the toilet or obtaining some form of item they forgot. This allows us to perform typical thriller conventions because it lets the antagonist approach the current scenario through a series of jump scared, paranoia and further more.

When the characters are talking by the door they hear the doorbell go off, and it is the antagonist. When the character locks the chain and opens the door the antagonist reaches in to unlock the rest of the door. This is when a jump scare can be added as well as a character can taunt the antagonist because he cannot get in.

The idea that both characters, on their own isolated in a claustrophobic building, with the antagonist running off and finding an entrance would be a good thriller trailer idea because it allows us to manipulate the atmosphere, the audience’s emotions as well as being able to use multiple conventions.

Idea 4 Idea 4 by: Aimee | The Apocalyptic Infection Thriller Sub-Genre: The thriller sub-genre that will appear in my idea for a trailer would

be Post-Apocalyptic thriller. Intended Target Audience: The envisioned viewers for this type of film would be males

around the ages of 18 to 22. This is because the trailer will comprehend violence as well as a level of maturity.

Setting: The setting for this trailer will be within a locked down school. This is because within a school we normally see gates around it to keep people in, but what about people getting in? The setting is perfect because it allows to manipulate the large amounts of space within the school as well as to perform typical conventions of thriller.

Idea: The idea for this film is that we can base it in a school and the idea is two members of school staff go to the gate entrance because someone is trying to break in, what they don’t know is that he is an infected zombie. One of the members tries pulling him against the fence to teach him a lesson but he is bitten.

Because of this, the member of the school becomes infected and causes the two students as well as the other members to be in severe danger as they are locked inside with this zombie-like antagonist.

This idea can be developed further into creating conventions like enigmas where we don’t know if they will escape or die.
