The picture on the front cover of my magazine mustimmediately tell my target audience what type ofmagazine.

I have looked at objects people generally associate withmusic such as instruments, microphones, drum sticks or

leads and amplifiers. As the genre of my magazine is the indie style, this needs

to be reflected straight away. I will photograph a friendusing a medium close up technique.

I would like to set a scene by locating the shoot in an

abandoned area with preferably a wall of a graffiti for thecover start to stand in front of. The genre means„independent‟. Therefore if I were to capture a picture asmy friend is sat on the floor on her own this reflects theindie genre. The main focus is the cover star not the

location.

Another idea I had was my friend stood under wateralmost like a rain shower with a microphone in one hand, her hair will be big and she will have dark eye makeup. This again reflects the Indie genre.

I will photograph this on a empty field to show simplicity, this is because my cover star is more important than theset behind them.

I think the lighting for this shoot would have to be quitedark I will use the flash on my camera to get capture the

detail of the objects used in the image and the make upmy cover start will be wearing.

I will write different titles next to numbers with a possiblepicture next to it to show the reader who I am talking about.

Ideas I have are things such as “interview with Stephy- J”,“win tickets to see Bastille live”, the cover lines will tell the mytarget audience the articles that I will talk about but thecontents will let the audience know what page each articlewill be on making it easy for the reader to follow.

The writing will be in a column down the side of the page asseen in plenty of other magazines, I will do this in Quark inorder to achieve the best columns and lines, I plan to dividemy page into two columns one side will be where I put mypictures along side the articles and the other will be used forthe text and numbers.

The article for my double page spread is an interview whichhas been taken with a member of an indie band, I havechosen to base the article on one member and I askedseveral questions the readers may interested to read about. The band is an upcoming band who are looking forward topursue a career in music. I have asked questions aboutrecent gigs, any tours and what they plan to do next.

I have also taken pictures to go with the article to show the

band off and to get them more noticed and liked by thepublic and the regular readers of my magazine.
