Business Context

Janssen is engaged on a number of fronts in exploring opportunities to use commercially available and emerging technologies (chiefly biosensors and mobile technologies) to create new services, develop higher degrees of engagement with healthcare stakeholders and to improve effectiveness/ adherence of medicines. The nature of these engagements are decidedly cross-discipline, bringing together researchers, healthcare professionals, care-givers, technologists, human factors research, designers and the patients themselves to develop these solutions.

Digital Patient Technology Use Cases

Qualification Study Is “this” digitally collected data better, faster or cheaper than an existing diagnostic?

Exploratory / POCIdentify what data can we obtain digitally, and what are the gaps/challenges to harness it.

Lower Development BarriersDevelopment of capabilities that can de-risk future trials with better data and better clinical end-points.

Rx SupportEvidence based methods to inform clinicians decision to start/change therapies.

Disease ManagementSolutions to provide patients and caregivers with better tools to manage their condition.

Disease InterceptionSolution to provide patients and caregivers with actionable information to prevent (or limit impact of) disease onset

Clinical Trial ExecutionCapabilities that allow digitally gathered data to serve as surrogate endpoints to accelerate trials.

AdherenceSolutions that measure adherence and provide feedback to patients, caregivers and HCPs

Subject SelectionCapabilities that create engagement, deliver digital assessments and allow digital patient data to be combined with other data (e.g. RWE) to identify and recruit target patients/subjects.

Observational/Clinical Trials Integrated Solutions Consumer Health

Self Directed HealthData and algorithms that provide insight to a patient (or their caregiver) on their current health status, presented with content and comparative data that allows the consumer to make better health decisions.
