Homemade Pineapple Jam Recipe

Ingredients

1 pineapple 1 cup water

2 cups sugarJuice of 1 lemon or lime

Instructions

Peel the Pineapple. Chop it into small pieces and grate the pulp out of it.

If you are having a hard time grating, you could also use the blender in short blitz to chop it into small pieces.

Make sure you do not overdo it so it will not liquefy.

Heat the pan. Add the pineapple pulp and

water.

Let it cook for 20 minutes on medium

flame.

Stir frequently so the mixture will not burn.

The pineapple pulp will soften as it cooks.

Next, add the sugar and lemon juice.

Let the mixture cook for 30 minutes.

The mixture is ready when it has thickened,

the color changed from pale to golden yellow

and the mixture becomes shiny because of the caramelization of

sugars.

Spoon the jam into sterilized jars with a tight-fitting lids.

To make it more appealing, you could decorate your jars

and put your own label.

The jam has a shelf life of 3 to 4 months if stored in the

refrigerator.
