Transcript of Pie charts
This shows that we will mostly have a male audience and stereotypically will be more likely like violence etc.
The majority of our audience is between the ages of 14 and 19. These ages stereotypically like violence and character development may be less important to them, and they will likely be more interested in action or violence
The audience placed violence and action at the top of their lists so we decided to blend the two in a slasher thriller.
As the results show, the majority of people who participated in our survey called for a female protagonist, this is very in line with slasher opening scenes due to the fact that in most slasher films, the opening scenes involve a young woman, and so we will be going ahead with this idea, as planned.
A clear majority of our voters called for a female protagonist between the ages of 19-24. This was our plan anyway, and so we will be going ahead with this age range.
Even though the antagonists gender will not be revealed in the opening sequence, we were planning on using a male in the opening sequence as the antagonist/killer.
This pie chart shows that the audience think that both the establishing of story and characters are important in the opening sequence but they mostly prefer the establishing of characters
From the pie chart, we know that a large majority of people want action and music in the opening sequence and the not many people thought that drama, plot development or dialogue were most important in an opening sequence
From this pie chart, we understand from the participants of the survey that batman the dark knight and the purge were the most favourite. This shows that most people want action and gore therefore we went along with a slasher-thriller
As the results show, the most popular way which people would like to see the film is through the protagonist's point of view. This is because it is your stereotypical view in a horror movie, you usually see glimpses of the antagonist from the point of view of the protagonist.
We concluded from the results that the best place to set of opening scene of our movie would be in a family home, it relates to classic slasher films of an antagonist killing a victim from a family or a group of friends in a family home.
From the results it shows that people believed violence and tension was more important than storyline, this is because in a slasher/horror movie stereotypically involves more tension and violence, rather than storyline.
