    TM- PHS 5.56mmPrecision Hunter Suppressor

WARNING: FAILURE TO READ AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONSOUTLINED IN THIS MANUAL PRIOR TO USE MAY RESULT IN

DEATH, INJURY, OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

Griffin Armament / Hearing Protection LLC.

approaching the threshold of abusive use and increasing the likely-hood of suppressor damage. If refinishing is desired, rub the oldloosened, heat affected paint off with rubbing alcohol and a clean rag

and apply the finish of your choice. We recommend Norrell Moly.

Use a light coat with the silencer standing on the rear cap. Paintingthe mount, mount bore, or threads may result in tolerance interferenceor poor alignment which is a potential source of suppressor damage.Do not paint the mating surfaces.

CAUTION: The Precision Hunter Suppressor combats the Impulsenoise at the muzzle of your weapon and cannot account for theactions associated operating noise which will vary by weapon type

and barrel length. For the highest level of hearing protection, wearhearing protection at all times while using your silencer.

MILITARY USE: In operational environments where concealmentis paramount, first round flash can be mitigated by firing the weapon

with the suppressor mounted prior to an operation and immediatelytaping the muzzle aperture of the suppressor to trap combustion gases

    (oxygen free environment).

Infrared heat signature can be mitigated by using a suppressor coversuch as the SUPCOV. For optimal concealment less than 30 rounds

should be fired. Covers insulate, so they add thermal stress to thesuppressor, reducing cooling. Reduced cooling reduces tolerablemaximum ROF, so covers are not recommended unless needed to

reduce thermal signature or mirage (with scoped rifles) or to mitigaterisk of burns during transition drills.

pressure conditions. Your Precision Hunter suppressor is extremelystrong and durable; however care should be taken to prolong servicelife. The recommended maximum rate of fire for Magnum class

calibers is bolt action operated weapon use only, as rapidly as you can

load the weapon. The rate of fire for self-loading calibers is no morethan 60 rounds on full auto, followed by 14 rounds per minutesustained.

Do not quench/cool your heated silencer with water, ice, or snow.Quenching metals will em-brittle them, can warp parts, and may damage or destroy your silencer. Allow your silencer to air cool.

Calibers and Minimum Length Barrel Ratings: The PrecisionHunter 5.56mm suppressor is rated for 5.56mm ammunition in barrellengths as short as 10.5.

In all cases, longer barrels will provide maximum suppressor

    wear life.

Maintenance: Clean and protect your suppressors mounting systemand MBS-A mount after every use to ensure mating surfaces are freeof corrosion, as well as copper and carbon fouling. Failure to clean

the mounting system or to remove your suppressor for storage afteruse can result in your suppressor becoming stuck to the muzzle deviceon your weapon. Rod the bore with a brass 9mm or .40 caliber bore

brush coated with your favorite cleaner / lubricant / corrosioninhibitor. Spraying a light coat of WD-40 or Rem Oil into the

suppressor body for storage will displace moisture and further reducethe minimal risk of corrosion. Give the suppressor body and threads alight coat of oil, and wipe dry. In operational environments, the

suppressor can be re-mounted after cleaning to protect threads fromdamage, or the MBS-A thread protector can be used for that purpose.

If for some reason you use an excessive amount of oil, drain theexcess prior to firing. Fluids are incompressible- a substantial amountof fluid will raise operating pressures with potentially dangerous

results. Do not use grease or water in your suppressor.

Finish: High rate of fire operation at temperatures exceeding 1100Fafter firing more than 100 rounds in 1-3 minutes, may damage thefinish which is Norrell Moly coating and has a minimum thermal

breakaway of 1000F. If you witness the finish baking off of yourPrecision Hunter suppressor, that is an indicator that you are

Thankyou for purchasing a Precision Hunter sound suppressor. Weappreciate your business. Please read these instructions carefully

    prior to use.

Compatibility: The Precision Hunter suppressor is adaptable to1/2x28 (5.56mm) weapons through the use of an appropriate muzzle

    brake suppressor attachable (MBS-A) mount.

CAUTION: Your suppressor can be interfaced with 7.62mm and.338LM MBS-A mounts, but does not have sufficient bore clearance

for these rounds. Firing larger than .224 diameter bullets throughyour 5.56mm PHS suppressor will destroy your suppressor and couldcause death or serious bodily harm to people in the vicinity of yourrifle.

Safety Considerations! Unload your weapon in accordance with itsmanufacturers user manual prior to mounting the sound suppressor.Remove the bolt or bolt carrier group and charging handle from theweapon prior to inspection of the mounting alignment.

To mount your Precision Hunter silencer: Grasp the silencer andcarefully place the suppressor over the host weapons installed MBS-Amount. The silencer will bottom out when the threads on the MBS-Atouch the threads on the Precision Hunter muzzle accessory. When

this occurs, engage the thread by rotating counter clockwise until youfeel the starting point of the thread. Next tighten the silencer byrotating it clockwise until it is fully tightened. Tighten the suppressorfirmly, but do not over-tighten as this can make the suppressor

    difficult to remove after use.

Confirm alignment! Visually confirm alignment on every untestedweapon prior to first use by placing white paper in the breach, andlooking through the suppressor bore, parallel to the walls of the barrel

bore on all sides, comparing clearance to elements of the suppressor

bore. If alignment does not appear to be right, or if you desire themost minimal POI shift and maximum safety from baffle strikes orother issues, send your barrel to ADCO firearms in Ohio for barrelthreading. www.adcofirearms.com

Recommended rate of fire considerations: The Precision Hunter isconstructed of TIG welded, heat treated, high strength stainless steel, which is substantially stronger than typical stainless steel, for high
