FramingI used the sand to set up a square-like frame
around the shell.
SimplicityThis photo is simplicity because nothing is
happening in it but the shell sitting there.
LightingThis photo is Lighting because I was shining
my phone flashlight on it.
Black and whiteI changed the normal shot to
Black and white.
Rule of thirdsI centered the two rocks next to the spiral but it was obvious that the center is the spiral.
BalanceI used the tiny shells to surround the big shell and center it a.k.a. balance.
Editing techniquesI made the shell colorful and the rest black and white for editing techniques.
