IntroWhen I think of a strategy first thing thatcomes to my mind is June 6th, 1944 (D-Day). To strategize means to develop a

plan that will be effective from beginning tothe end. Below is my strategy plan forchildren ministry that is aiming at (1)transforming children to the image of

Christ, (2) equipping them withfundamental biblical information and (3)teaching them a Biblical worldview

PurposeThe purpose of children ministry is:(1) to lead the childreninto a life changing, life transforming relationship with JesusChrist as their personal Lord and Savior, their King and their God (Romans 12:1-2). (2) To equip them in theknowledge of the Word of God (II Timothy 3:16). (3) Tohave them experience evangelism, discipleship, fellowship,ministry and worship (Matthew 28:18-20). (4) To makethem a light house that will shine in this darkened world by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others and living atransformed life backed up not only by what they say but by what they do (Matthew 5:16, Hebrews 12:1). (5) Anecessity to form relationships with childrens parents and keeping in touch with them on regular basis. It is a privilegeto lead children into a life transforming relationship with thecreator of heaven and earth; Jesus Christ. It is also a

privilege watching children falling in love with Jesus Christ.

Step by step strategyThe first step to an effective strategy is toget some backup. It is necessary to trainleaders for the youth ministry who are

FAST, faithful, available, solid in the Bibleand teachable. Apart from leaders we willfall into the same problem that Moses didbecause he was so frustrated with having

so many people come to him (Exodus18:17-25).

The second step is to know and picka target, churched and unchurchedchildren. It is vital that we know ourtarget and know their strengths andweaknesses. Thus a thoroughknowledge of children psychology

would be extremely helpful.

In the third step we pick a weaponthat will be most effective and thatwill do most damage; Bible. We mustconfront the children with the Bibleand how it applies to their lives.

Next we must send troops into theneighborhood around the church toreach families with children throughvarious programs

In step five we will break the irongates to their hearts with agape love,sacrificing our time and our needs forthe sake of the kids. It is extremelyimportant to love the children andmake them feel loved.

We wage a war with invisibleprincipalities (Ephesians 6:11-17).The battle will not be easy that iswhy we must penetrate the childrenwith love.

We must form a Biblical worldview in the children that we teach throughthe word of God and our example,children remember what we do notwhat we say.

Step eight is the last but not theleast. We must pray for our childrenwith passion. This is our secretweapon that can destroy anybarriers. It is most effective andmost deadly. Pray without ceasing

(I Thessalonians 5:7).

Programs and events

All of the programs and events will bebriefly described and will specify theintended aim in order to follow thepurpose of children ministry. The listthat will be given below is neitherexhaustive nor unchangeable.

Sunday School

The Sunday school classes will bedivided by age. The main focus of thisevent is to use the Bible in order toteach a Biblical worldview andconcepts to the youngsters

Childrens camp

One time during a year kids will go toa camp filled with fun activitiesaccording to the age group

Childrens night

2-4 times a year kids will put atalent-show for their families

Monthly parents conference

First Saturday of the month from11am-1pm will be a parentconference at which I will mentionissues that need to be addressed andvice versa. It will also be a time of fellowship in order for parents to get

to know each other.

Sexual harassment policiesSexual misconduct in any form will not betolerated. Any such instances will be dealtwith immediately and will involve otherchurch staff members and parents if necessary. All reported cases or allegationswill be subject to further investigation andnecessary legal action if needed. WhenAbuse is suspected or reported, legalrequirements will be fully taken in

accordance with state laws, while strivingto maintain the privacy and integrity of theabused party.

Children worker screening policiesAll children workers will be asked to undergo athorough screening process before assisting withchildren ministry activities. Those who refuse to bescreened will not be allowed to work with the youth.The screening process will include:Being a member of a church for at least six monthsCriminal and background check

Reference check

Personal interviewDrug Test

Church staff holds the right to refuseany person the opportunity to workwith the children based uponinformation obtained during thescreening process. Once accepted, atwo week period will be designated

for new children workers as trainingamong the experienced childrenworkers.

Children ministry teacher andvolunteer qualifications andexpectations

Teachers and volunteers must meetthe minimum qualifications forinstructing children. These include:

Profession of faith in Jesus Christ aspersonal Lord and Savior

Believers baptismDemonstrate spiritual growth andmaturity

Member of a church for at least sixmonths

Must be willing to dedicate their livesto these childrenMust sign a teachers covenant
