    1. Which specialization/majorare you aiming for as partof your MBA and why?

While children of my age wereinterested in shaktiman, chahcha choudhry orchandrakanta; I always foundthe ads that ran between thempretty intriguing. As I grew up, Ibecame a state level debater, organized a national levelcultural festival, became thecreative head of NITRUTSAVand went on to head themarketing team of Film andmusic society at NIT Rourkela. As a manager at Tata Steel, Igot into the nitty-gritties ofbusiness. I realized the

importance of slaes andmarketing in any business. All ofa sudden I found myselfconnecting back the dots, analyzing my skill set and I wenton, the picture became crystalclear and I knew what I wantedto do. So here I am. Hi. This isSambit Kumar Dwivedi from

    future course of studies.

    2. Which socio-economic issueconcerns you the most and

what role can you play inaddressing it?

As a child, I used to think thatchildren who worked in hotels orshops have a very good life. They dont have to study; theydont have any homework tocomplete or any exam to worry

about. As I grew up I saw meand I saw them and I started torealize importance of educationin molding ones life. At NIT, Itried to do my bit and contributetowards this issue of educatingthe underprivileged. I was apart of NSS i.e. the NationalService Scheme under which Itaught orphan children in thechend area of Rourkela. Istrongly believe that instead ofblaming the government, everyone of us can take some timeout and teach these children andcontribute towards a happiersociety.

    3. Why do you want tointern at Philips? My father used to say, Phillips! Naam hi kaafi hai. It didnt mean much to meback then, but now when I think of this, I understand; for a brand to command so

much of trust, so much of respect; it is an achievement in itself. As I aspire to

become a pioneer in the field of sales and marketing; I believe as a fast moving,

innovation oriented company, phillips gives me a plethora of opportunities to be

brave enough to step up to the plate and experiment. Phillips, with its 120 years

of heritage, provides me with a platform to work on a global scale, to learn from

industry leaders and to do my bit in improving peoples life through meaningfulinnovation.
