 Nyenrode is the leading private business school in the Neth-

erlands, operating with tremendous success since 1946 underthe motto "for and by business." It was founded in 1946 by

leading Dutch companies, including KLM, Shell, Unilever,

Philips and Akzo Nobel to deliver action-focused learning

through work-integrated education and education-integrated

work.

Today it has created an international environment in which

ambitious and talented students, as well as bright and lead-

ing academics, are all dedicated to bridging the gap between

academic theory and daily business knowledge. The

 Nyenrode University is accredited by EQUIS/EFMD and by

the Dutch Ministry of Education.

Denmark and Chengdu Government, the Nordic International

Management Institute (NIMI) was successfully established in

Chengdu, Sichuan in 2011. NIMI's mission is to be the most

glocal, innovative and respected business institute in the

world by making efforts to enable its students and clients to

achieve competitive and sustainable advantage. These efforts

take shape in NIMI's course offerings which are both custom-

ized and innovative including: PhD for Executives, special-

ized EMBAs by topic area and target focus, customized

corporate programs for business both multinational anddomestic as well as regular monthly open programs and

forums.

The NIMI - Nyenrode PhD for Executives Program is for

experienced professionals who wish to broaden their

academic background and to make a lasting contribution

to their own organization and profession. It enables

 participants to deepen their knowledge under the supervi-

sion of world class professors. Yet it is specifically

designed to accommodate the constraints faced by busysenior executives.

The greatest obstacle to successful completion of a PhD

degree has always been the demand for original contribu-

tions resulting in a successfully defended dissertation.

The NIMI - Nyenrode PhD addresses this problem direct-

ly by adding a mentoring professor who accompanies a

candidate through the program process. This mentor is

selected based on expertise within a candidate' s particu-

lar research area.

 Nyenrode University as a business school and as a PhD

granting institution is well-respected and highly rankedglobally. Our first program commenced in May 2012. 18

candidates from 12 countries will hopefully achieve their

doctorate within 4 years.

The experience and quality of our international faculty are a key component of the NIMI brand. Almost all have been
