What’s New in 2019?Self-Tensioning Cable System – Motorized ScreensPhantom motorized screens retract vertically and completely out of sight when not in use to restore fully open views and maintain beautiful curb appeal.

Phantom’s self-tensioning cable system is the newest option available with our family of motorized retractable screens. This is in addition to our existing track system we’ve made and installed for decades. The subtle cable-guides keep the exterior solar shades in place on

windows, glass walls and structures with open corners where there are no posts or columns for a track system. The self-tensioning cable system keeps the screens looking perfectly fit, regardless of changes in outdoor temperature, wind or moisture.

2018 Impact AwardCelebrating the best in design innovation and home comfort

Abbotsford, B.C. (February 19, 2019) – Phantom Screens, North America’s leading manufacturer of retractable screens, selects Mom’s Design Build as the 2018 Impact Award winner.

The Impact Award celebrates residential design and building professionals who integrate Phantom’s products to deliver innovative designs that set them above the rest. Impact Award winners, both past and present, have proven their commitment to enhancing the lifestyles of homeowners by integrating Phantom’s products into living spaces in order to deliver added comfort and value to the home.

Mom’s Design Build’s submission is the quintessential design of blended living spaces which features a second storey wrap-around porch which has been enclosed with Phantom’s products to extend living spaces. This fully retractable outdoor space features cooking stations, dining areas and additional seating in order to expand and maximize on the home’s living spaces. Mom’s Design Build utilized two Phantom products to improve the home’s livability. Phantom’s Manual Walls Screens were used to promote quick and easy access in and out of the space, while the Motorized Wall Screens were used to enclose the remaining areas of the structure to maintain comfort and usability in changing outdoor conditions.

The winner also receives recognition on booth signage at this year’s NAHB International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas, NV, a full-page advertisement in a selected publication, an in-depth case study featuring the winner’s submission and a dedicated feature on Phantom’s corporate website.





5 Places to See Phantom’s Products at NAHB-IBS

1. The New American Remodel® 2019About TNAR: This year’s The New American Remodel® 2019 aims to bring sustainable building techniques and green living to light through energy efficient products and design that have been newly introduced to the housing market. Engineered and designed by Luxus Design Build, LLC, Luxus has selected vendors to assist in achieving their energy efficiency goals in addition to those who are simultaneously capable of complementing the home’s unique and modern design.

Phantom Screens’ products have been implemented throughout TNAR with the primary goal of acclimatizing the home to changing Las Vegas temperatures. Phantom’s motorized screens have been implemented in TNAR along the covered outdoor dining lounge, the second storey outdoor entertaining space, guest rooms and master suite. Through Phantom’s energy efficient product designs, they were selected to

provide shade in the warmer months and heat retention in cool evenings. The enhanced privacy, energy efficiency and minimalistic aesthetics led Phantom to become an ideal vendor for the project.

Phantom’s motorized screens can cover openings up to 40 feet wide and 11 feet high, or 25 feet wide and 16 feet high. The screens disappear out of sight when not in use.

2. Show VillageAbout Show Village: This year’s Show Village is concentrating on Mid-Century Modular design. Developer Joe Crosland’s primary concerns for the modular housing design were darkness and lack of space. Therefore, Crosland selected products for the modular home that were able to support his goal of bringing openness and additional space into the home’s living areas in spite of the home’s limitations.

Phantom’s Manual Wall Screens were installed on the oversized multi-sliding doorways of the living room, kitchen and master bedroom. Through implementation of the Manual Wall Screens, Phantom expands living spaces by creating seamless transitions

between indoor and outdoor living areas. In addition, the screens promote air circulation in the home without the entry of pests and enable natural light penetration, which brings an essence of openness to the design.
