Travis County ESD No. 2 / Pflugerville Fire Department is the busiest Emergency Services District (ESD) in the county with a great responsibility in providing fire suppression, fire prevention, and first response emergency medical care.

Covering 100 square miles, we have personnel and equipment working out of four fire stations with 68 career firefighters ready 24 hours a day to

serve the 97,000 citizens within the District.

Prevention services are intended to reduce

the chance of fire or other adverse situations. Public education includes all forms of safety and well-being of our community.

The Vial of Life Project provides our first responders with important medical information about you and your loved ones if you are unable to provide it to us in an emergency. Please visit us at pflugervillefire.org to find out more about our Prevention programs.

Our Prevention Programs Include:Vial of Life

CPR, First Aid, and Fire Extinguisher Training Classes

Annual Open Houses in OctoberFire Factory performances

Emergency medical calls represent an estimated 70% of our average call volume. To respond effectively, our firefighters

have at least the minimum required Emergency Medical Technician certification.

Because We Care we want to have the right amount of trained personnel with the right type of equipment to best meet those unexpected needs whether it involves medical emergency response, structure fires, rescues, vehicle accidents, or wildland/urban interface fire expertise.

Help Us Help YouWhat should you do after you call 911?

• Make sure the address is visible. • Clear the driveway if possible.• If someone is availalble, have.

them wait for the emergency. vehicle outside of the location.

To promote a healthy community, the district hosts an annual Living Safe & Well Expo, a family oriented event to inspire all to live safe and well.

Smoke detectors combined with a planned and practiced escape plan saves lives. Test your smoke detectors and practice home fire drills once a month.

• Draw a floor plan of your home.• Show two ways out of each room.• Discuss escape routes with

everyone in your home.• Agree on an outside meeting place where

everyone will gather once they’ve escaped.

To learn more about Exit Drills in the Home (EDITH) and other safety information, visit the Prevention section of our site pflugervillefire.org.

We began as a volunteer fire department in 1955 to provide fire suppression and have evolved with the community to expand

our services and provide the best possible approach to better serve the citizens.
