As with the outbound email, we’ve applied the principle of keeping all content ‘above the fold’, i.e. visible on the screen without requiring the user to scroll, in order to maximise user interaction and conversion.

Competition page

The aim of the competition page is to collect valuable data related to likely renewal dates. The competition page will consist of an entry form, designed to have a consistent look and feel to the form used on theoutbound mailer. The form will be pre-populated with any data we currently have about the prospect. The prospect is able to correct any data, and complete any empty fields. This pre-population of fields reduces the time and effort it takes for the prospect to complete the form, and as a result significantly increases thelikelihood of them submitting their data. Some fields on the form will be made mandatory, so the prospect isunable to submit an entry if those fields are notpopulated.

pURL site

The proposed pURL site is a simple microsite whichallows the user to interact, enter a competition by submitting data, and links to other pages on the main site.

Initial landing page

The initial landing page will consist of a personalised welcome, a calculator feature that encourages the user to interact, and a competition entry form.

An interactive calculator is a very effective method of encouraging the user to interact in a way that enables us to capture valuable data. For example, we provide a calculator that is pre-populated with some data we hold, and shows the prospect how much they could save. The user is able to alter some variables to see how it effects their premiums. To the user this appears as a usefulutility that they are happy to interact with. However, all the values entered by the prospect can be stored against that prospects data, and used to guide any follow up activity. Essentially, the calculator is acting as a feedback form or survey. The calculator also has an ‘Apply’ button that links directly to the existing Number 1 Insurance online application page. The pURL system will track who clicks on this link.

How does it work?

It’s simple...

1. Send email, printed direct mail campaign containing pURL.

2. Target responds and visits personalised website – information is gathered and added to database.

3. Track responses and identify leads on line and in real time. You can also receive alerts via email.

4. Follow up message via email, or make a sales call.

Once the prospect submits their data, they will bedirected to a ‘Thank you’ page containing links toexisting Number 1 Insurance pages concerning other products. The pURL system will track if the prospect clicks on any of these links. At this point, we could also trigger an automated email, either immediately or a set amount of time later such as 24 or 48 hours, which fol-lows up with an offer or re-emphasises various product offerings.

TrackingAll visits to the personalised URL are tracked and reported through our web based portal in real time. You will have the ability to view which prospects have visited their personalised URL, which pages they visited and when. You also have the facility to segment visitors according to their behaviour on the site, and download the segmented data for the purpose of following up.
