Think Adoption First Philosophy
Mission Statement: "To reduce the number of adoptable pets being euthanized, and increase the number of adoptions and pets being placed into forever homes."
Petco’s commitment to the Think Adoption First philosophy.
Petco has approximately 1400 stores nationwide - including Unleashed by Petco
All store partners complete a training that include Think Adoption First Philosophy which encourages adoption rather than purchasing
Recognized as core competency for all Petco employees
Measured on company, Executive teams, Management, and stores partner' scorecards
Petco has never sold dogs or cats, and stopped selling rabbits several years ago

Partnerships
Charitable Partners: A Petco Foundation Charitable Partner is eligible to submit
grants for supplies and funding from the Foundation, and to be chosen as a
partner by one or more Petco stores during our fundraisers. If you need to apply
for a grant please visit www.petcofoundation.org.
Adoption Partners: Adoption partners are eligible to hold adoptions at Petco stores.
Petco and the Petco Foundation work with 501c3 non-profit organizations and
municipal agencies to help facilitate the adoption of animals needing forever
homes. We welcome them to use our Petco stores as a forum for adoption events
or post pictures of adoptable animals.

On average over 200-600 customers visit our stores daily
End of 2014 almost 5 million lives saved in Petco stores
