    Executive Summary

    $his report mainly talks a#out how an individual can evaluate and improve a range of 

     professional and personal skills in order to encourage future personal and career development.

    And also it talks a#out how an individual5s a#ilities to organi6e7 manage and practice a range of 

    approaches to improve their performance as self8organi6ed learners7 in preparation for work or 

    further career development.

    At the first part of this report7 it covers the self8management skills and how can it #e developed

     #y using different approaches7 further it talks deeply a#out a few certain skills which can #e

    $he 9uality of your thinking determines what you do7 what you feel and what you want7 you are

    what you think. If your thoughts are not realistic7 it will lead to disappointments.

    Personal and Professional Development is #een one of the most important concept for the long

    term development in the career. It can #e said that it is the #asic way to set up the aim in life. It is

    the duty of any individual to find out what are the skills they are lacking of and work on it for the

    long term development of their life. It is #elieved that the education is the main or the initial step

    in anyone5s life if they want to gain knowledge and skill. Professional life is the place where the

    individual can put those knowledge and skill in to play. Professional life on the other hand also

    helps an individual to enhance their existing knowledge and skill. &efore an individual leave the

    academic sector7 he has to develop a personal and a professional development plan.

    A personal development plan is really helpful for any students or to any professionals those who

    want to achieve #etter results in their respective fields. It keeps alerting an individual the skills

    that he is lacking of and guides him in the right path towards the success.

    knowledge which includes all my strengths and weaknesses. Development is not short term7 it5s a

    1.1.1 Self%&anagement

    %elf8management is a key which will help an individual throughout their life. It definitely

    involves managing time and setting goals. &y having effective self8management the individual

    can avoid stress and make him involve in more activities and make him productive. A key skill in

    self8management is so called the self8regulation. %elf8regulation refers to individuals controlling7

    monitoring and directing characteristics of their learning for themselves.

    Accordingly7 I as an individual need to identify and understand what are the self8management

    skills that I need to have in order to #e successful in my personal and professional development

    career. $he #elow mentioned skills are the skills that I5m focusing on and have mentioned ways

    on how I can develop it.

    1.1 Time &anagement Skill

    $ime management is one of the most important skills that an individual needs to have. $ime

    management skills allow people to organi6e their work and personal life efficiently. It will #e

    helpful in whatever the career that an individual choose to lead his/her life in. veryone differs

    from one anotherJ therefore they have their own daily routine with different time clocks. A

     person who manages time well will finish tasks ahead of deadlines7 without last8minute

    scram#ling or sacrificing work 9uality. $he maor disadvantage of having poor time management

    is the effects it has on stress levels. It leads to the dissatisfaction of not having worked hard and

    wasted time. A person who poorly manages time cannot manage things in an efficient manner 

    and also the poor time management leads to imperfection.

    you will complete = tasks this week7 say I will complete = tasks on $hursday #y C P.M. Small bite%si+e (ieces8 we will feel overwhelmed so easily7 therefore #reaking down the

    main tasks into su#8tasks will make it easier to complete the task effectively and

    efficiently on time.

    to complete a task soon. 'or example7 if u are to complete an assignment7 and supposed

    to su#mit it in = days7 #ut you have classes to attend every day and it takes you two hours

    to travel up and down7 plan it out7 make use of that time7 use the latest technology7 that is

    the smart phones and #rowse on the internet for information which you will need to

    answer a 9uestion or two in the assignment and get an idea. And complete the task as

    soon as you reach home as you already have the information which is needed for that

    9uestion.

    also will #e a key reason where we can complete our tasks without wasting time.

    Establis$ a routine8 -e are creatures of ha#its. If we study at a certain time or day then

    it will #e easier to get into concentration mode. And also7 it is #etter to study #riefly and

    $his is the skill which refers to the a#ility of communicating in an effective way despite the fact

     presenting it to a small or a large audience. It a process where you explain and show the content

    which you are talking a#out to your audience. In order to #e an effective presenter or a

    communicator7 one has to keep practicing the presentation which is to #e presented in order to

    make it effective and efficient. &ut sadly7 most of us lack in many areas such as in pronunciations7 having stage fear and lack of knowledge of the content which is to #e presented.

    &y not doing a good presentation7 the audience will not understand what the presenter is trying to

    say and therefore the presentation will #e a waste and also a time waster for the audience as they

    expect something #etter and a message from the presenter.

    $he following eight tips will help me to #e an effective presenterJ

    2. Talking naturally to t$e audience8 it5s always good to avoid reading from a script when

    doing a presentation. And at the same time it5s good to keep a short note in hand to make

    sure if in case we forget what to talk7 therefore can have a 9uick glance into it and talk to

    the audience naturally again.

    4. %tand and move around a #it7 therefore the audience will get attracted and #e interested.

    =. C$ange t$e tone (itc$ and volume of t$e voice 8 #y doing this7 it will again get the

    attraction of the audience and it will give the audience an interest to listen instead talking

    in a monotone voice which will make the audience feel #ored and loose interest in the

     presentation.

    /. )ave eye contact wit$ t$e audience%*eep looking at the audience7 every single person

    who attends it7 it will make the audience feel good and get their attention towards the

     presenter.

    C. #sing visual aids w$en a((ro(riate8 @sing graphs and charts7 diagrams7 pictures and

    video will make the presentation interesting. -e should talk all the relevant things which

    is relating to the visual aids and not showing a picture and talk some other things which

    will distract the audience.

     presentation7 tell the audience what are you going to talk a#out and end with a good note

    sure to solve pro#lems when necessary.

    All of us get angryJ therefore we know what anger is and how destructive it could #e. &y not

     #eing a#le to control anger7 it can lead to #igger pro#lems as the anger will control you and you

    will not control the anger any more. It can lead to personal relationship pro#lems7 pro#lems at

    work and in the overall 9uality of the life.

    It is not really easy to overcome the anger. &ut still we can reduce it for a certain extent. &y

    recogni6ing the anger signs such as when the heart #eats faster and #reathing faster is a sign to

    show that you will #urst out with anger7 therefore #y taking precautions such as keeping calm

    and controlling the anger #efore the anger control you will make sure that no pro#lems will

    occur. ounting from one to ten will also slow down your anger as it will give you some time to

    take the next step7 #reathing slowly when #eing angry will make you cool down and when you

    communication will help many aspects in life7 from the professional life till the social gathering.

    As I help my dad in his #usiness. $herefore7 I really have a hard time completing the assignment

    at least a day #efore the su#mission. And I rush doing it within a day or two and end up getting

    merits or ust passes and not distinctions. $herefore7 if I maintain a #etter schedule7 that is #y

    having proper time management I will #e a#le to get distinctions for my assignments #y

    completing it perfectly and also help my dad in his #usiness smoothly in his #usiness which will

    Accordingly7 I #elieve that am a reflector. $he reason as to which that I call myself a reflector is

     #ecause I always look #efore I leap. Meaning7 I always think for the second time #efore I make a

    decision. I used to ponder experiences and o#serve them in many different points of views. I

    used to collect data from others at times #efore I come to a conclusion and sometimes delay to

    give the final decision as I need to analyses the data people give me. I do this ust #e in the safer 

    side and take precautions to face future pro#lems. I used to listen and o#serve people in

    /. Conclusion

    In the conclusion7 for me to say7 this report totally talks all the #enefits that I can gain #y having

    a good PDP in the short and as well as in the long run. It not only helps in my personal life7 #ut

    also helps a lot for my professional life that I will #e leading soon. PDP is a path way for me to

    walk towards the success.

    At the #eginning of this report7 I talked a#out the skills7 I mentioned five different skills that I

    need to develop in. #y developing those five skills am sure I will #e a#le to #e in a good social

    condition in the future which can #e applied to my personal and the professional life. I selected

    two skills such as ,eadership skill and the time management skill #ecause I wanted to #e a good

    leader in future. I missed many opportunities of getting the leadership in the past due o lack of 

    forwardness7 now that I have a plan7 I will follow it up and definitely will #e forward in future

    events and take up the leadership at any instance and #e a good leader. +n the other hand7 the

    time management is one of the most important skill that I need to develop on7 taking the ()D

    assignment su#mission as an example7 I su#mit them on time7 #ut the 9uality of the assignment is

    low as I don5t do it well #ecause I start it at the last moment every time as am #usy with many

    other work7 now that I have a plan7 will #e working according to the plan which will help me do

    my assignments on time with #etter 9uality. $his will have an impact on me as well as the

    company that I will #e working in the near future. It definitely will have a positive impact. $he

     productivity of #oth the company and me will #e increased and the 9uality of the output of mine

    will #e at a higher rate if I follow a proper PDP.

    I also have done a %-+$ analysis for myself7 this was done #ecause I had to select an o#

    advertisement and apply for that o#7 #ut as am still lacking of certain skills that the company is

    looking for from the potential o# seeker7 I identified the weaknesses that I have7 the strengths7

    the opportunities and the threats I will have in contact with the relevant o# vacancy. Giving up

    on it was never an option for me as I want that o#7 therefore I have prepared a PDP on how I can

     #e successfully applying to that specific o# #y improving myself. $he weakness that I have

    when comparing to that o# is that am lacking of some computer literacy and working

    experience. All what I have to do is7 start doing the diploma in the computer course and gain the
