From the Principal’s Desk Phase 1 Return to School From next Monday 11 May 2020, students will return to school 1 x day per week. We are asking all students to bring their Learning From Home booklets on their allocated day as students will continue to work on the same unit they are working on when at home. As per government guidelines, where possible, students are to continue learning from home on the days other than their allocated day. Children of essential workers will continue to be able to attend on days other than their allocated year group. Please don't hesitate to contact the school if you have any questions. We thank our entire school community for their ongoing cooperation during these difficult times. Monday - Year 3 + Year 6 Tuesday - Year 2 + K-6S (Group 1) Wednesday – Year 4 + Kindergarten Thursday - Year 1 + Year 5 + K-6S (Group 2) Friday - Children of essential workers Drop Off & Pick Up When dropping off and picking up students before/after school, parents are asked to please respect social distancing guidelines. If parents/visitors can't abide by these guidelines, the school may have to take further measures and have parents not enter school grounds and pick their children up from school gates ONLY. Your cooperation with this would be greatly appreciated. We have two allocated pick up points: K-2 - K-2 Grass Area 3-6 - Collarene Lawns (near flagpoles) Changes of Routine - Please Let Us Know Does your child catch a bus? Does your child walk/ride home from school? If you ever need to change the normal routine to your child's mode of transport to get home after school, please contact the front office as early as possible so a clear message can be provided to students. This will ensure your child is safe and not confused about what they have to do. Teachers will then communicate with students any changes to routine and ensure your child gets home safely. FREE STUDENT DESKS - All sizes available

Are you looking for a student desk? Do you have a workspace set up

for your child while learning from home is taking place? The school has

a large number of old classroom tables that we are giving away. If you

would like a FREE school desk, please contact the school and arrange a

time to come and pick one up. The only catch is....WE DON'T WANT

THEM BACK!! They are yours to keep!! Get in fast as only a limited

number are available.

Home Schooling Booklets For students completing paper-based activities, new learning booklets will

be available for pick up from the office on Monday 11 May 2020. At the

time of pick up, your Week 1 & 2 Learning booklet needs to be returned.

All student attendance is recorded based on their engagement either online

or paper-based. If no booklet is returned or no/limited engagement online,

students will be marked absent and it will count as a statistical absence.

Thank you! We would like to say a massive thanks to the hard working P&C for

all of their work over many years and support in improving the

playground and resources for all of our students. One of their

projects at the moment is a new sandpit located in the 3-6

Playground and will be open during 1st and 2nd break each day.

What’s been happening at home Ruby watched the NSW Education Live

segment last week with Manu, Gary and

Matt cooking Pasta and Chocolate

Mousse. She had a great time following

the recipes and creating a delicious

dinner.

P&C Uniform Shop School canteen

The school canteen will remain closed until further notice. Please make sure you keep

informed as to when the canteen will re-open by either going onto the P&C Facebook page,

the QPS School Canteen Facebook page or by downloading the Skoolbag app.

Uniform Shop

The P&C Uniform Shop has reopened for business from 8.30-9.30am each Wednesday

morning. The cut off for orders is 5.00pm on the preceding Tuesday, for example, this week it will be 5.00pm,

Tuesday 12 May 2020. Please use Flexischools where possible, with items available for collection at the uniform

shop, or from 9.30 am at the front office. Below you will find details of where to find the app and how to install

it.

Due to Covid restrictions, please do not enter the shop. Children are not currently able to try items on. If

necessary, please queue 1.5 m apart. Please use a card where possible.

Please respect our volunteers and do not visit us if you have any cold/flu-like symptoms.

Thank you for your understanding at this difficult time.
