OPENING PRAYER

Come, O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and enkindle in us the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit, and

we shall be created.

O God, on the first Pentecost you in-structed the hearts of the faithful. Grant us by the same Spirit to be truly wise and ever to rejoice in the Spirit’s consolation.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

FIRST DAY

Come, Creator, God Holy Spirit! Come Spirit of Courage!

All Divine, come and visit this soul of yours. Fill it with your celestial flame because you are the One who gave it

the beginning! Give me the courage to give my consent to bear the Word of God, when I see the

needs of your people. Strengthen me with your

GIFT OF FORTITUDE to overcome weakness and fear. That I

may defend all that is holy, come o Holy Spirit!

SECOND DAY

Come, Creator, God Holy Spirit! Come, Spirit of Counsel!

You Advocate/Paraclete alone are the Gift of sweet consolation. May your

name fill my whole life with fire of your love.

When faced with so many challenges, incline my heart to receive your

GIFT OF COUNSEL that I may choose the most noblest ways to serve others. Gift me with a

sense of cooperation with you. That I may be willing to choose what is holy,

come o Holy Spirit!

THIRD DAY

Come, Creator, God Holy Spirit! Come, Spirit of Reverence!

You are the one who gifts us with the mystical sevenfold gifts. You are the

promise of God. Teach my tongue to be rich in praising God.

In the presence of those who are needy inspire within me the GIFT OF REVERENCE

That I may cherish the life you share with me. Help me to foster a growing esteem for life. That I always may be

holy, come o Holy Spirit.

FOURTH DAY

Come, Creator, God Holy Spirit! Come, Spirit of Wisdom!

You kindle with fire from above each of my senses, and fill my heart with love. Grant me who are so often weak and frail, your strength that never fails.

When hearing your Word in the midst of all that glitters, grant me your

GIFT OF WISDOM To value the Word that saves. May I be

wise to accept Jesus as my liberator. Guard me in your wisdom, o Holy Spir-

it!

SIXTH DAY

Come, Creator, God Holy Spirit! Come, Spirit of Understanding!

Come and show me the grace that comes through you of knowing God the Father and God the Son. May I rest my faith in the assurance that you are the

One True God, Holy Spirit. Upon the encounter of diversity open in

me the GIFT OS UNDERSTANDING.

Instill in me a grasp of the inner mean-ing that “a;; may be one.” That I may

love what is holy in all creation, come o Holy Spirit!

SEVENTH DAY

Come, Creator, God Holy Spirit! Come, Spirit of Wonder and Awe!

Come, as on the day of Pentecost and rest on me as a tongue of fire. Burn

within me the fire of your love, the fire of the divine, to recognize in all your

manifold gifts. At the core of all reality, you are there in communion with the Father and the

Son. Grant me the GIFT OF WONDER AND AWE

With all its depth, length and height of the love of God. Come, o Holy Spirit that

I may love what is holy!

EIGHT DAY

Come, Creator, God Holy Spirit! Come, Spirit of Participation!

As in Mary your Immaculate Spouse, you unfold in me the fullness of Jesus’ mission. Through the gift of yourself

show me how to unfold joyfully and ful-ly the mission of forgiveness and heal-

ing. Grant that I may always live in your Holy Spirit.

God, Holy Spirit, show me what I can do in the redemption of humanity and cre-

ation. Outpour unto me the GFIT OF PARTICIPATION

That I may contribute my share in the mission of Jesus. Come, o Holy Spirit that I may work for all that is holy!

NINTH DAY

Come, Creator, God Holy Spirit! Come, Spirit of Listening!

God, Holy Spirit I adore you equally with the Father and the risen Son.

You are the giver of gifts. Grant me the GIFT OF LISTENING

That I will recognize your voice among so many other noises. When the day of

Pentecost had come, you rested with tongues of fire on the Apostles and

Mary. Each began to speak in other lan-guages. Teach me to hear your gentle

whisper. Come o Holy Spirit that I may hear your New Pentecost!

PERSONAL REQUEST: Holy Spirit, giver of all gifts, grant me the special favor […]

which I request. Abide in me more fully and show me the ways to live and to care for your people and the world you creat-ed with joy and your strength that never

fails.

CLOSING PRAYER: God, Holy Spirit, you are the heart of the most Holy Trinity, love and gift of the Father and the Son.

With deep gratitude I come before you to dedicate myself anew to your service.

Open my heart to your guidance, so that I may always act according to your will.

Grant that I may persevere in giving my-self totally for the greater glory and hon-

FIFTH DAY

Come, Creator, God Holy Spirit! Come, Spirit of Knowledge!

Come, and help me to know the ways that lead to you. Grant me your true peace in knowing that you will guide me safely through every ill and trail.

In my experience of loneliness and suf-fering enable me with your

GIFT OF KNOWLEDGE To go beyond the surface to perceive the signs of Jesus’ presence. Grant me the vision to find Jesus. That I may be drawn to intimate union with Jesus in all movements, breathe in me, o Holy

Spirit!
